I’m used to many kinds of temperaments, from “you stay in your corner and I’ll stay in mine” to “I need to be as close to you as possible at all times” and will respect your dogs needs. I prefer setting up a time before the sitting starts where I can just get to know the pet(s) and get an idea of their normal schedule. This way they can meet me while everyone is home so they feel most comfortable, and I’m not a complete stranger once I begin sitting or come over to let them out for a potty break.

Let me know is there are any colors or accessories to avoid wearing for the meet and greet or just in general around your fur baby (for example, a hat) for any reason! I know sometimes pets have odd quirks about things like that.

I love playing with pups however much they need! From the lazy bulldog who just wants to sleep all day (because honestly, who wouldn’t want to sleep all day?) to the quick as a whip border collie who needs some extra mental and physical stimulation throughout the day. While I personally don’t typically do super long walks or runs, I’ll always try to supplement them with something to help them burn that energy- whether it’s playing games in the house (when allowed, of course) or a puzzle-type game to keep them occupied, or going to the park.

I’ve had pets in my house for a majority of my life and have spent that time helping to care for them. I have also been watching others pets for about three years now, including both cats and dogs. Tasks included feeding on a schedule, taking for walks / outside to go potty, cleaning/scooping the litter box, and of course making sure they’re safe and not getting into any trouble while you’re gone. I have hands on experience in watching after and caring for a terminally ill dog for about six months. Those tasks included changing his dressing (he had an open wound that refused to heal), giving medications on a schedule, and giving enrichment that he could enjoy with limited energy. I also have hands on experience with reactive dogs, so please know that I will love your reactive pup just as much. I can do basic training, but my favorite part of the job is showering the animals with love and attention.

We had such a wonderful experience with Amanda! She took amazing care of our dog while we were away. Her communication was excellent, and she kept us updated regularly with messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. Our big girl can be a little sensitive with new people, and Amanda handled her with so much patience, kindness, and understanding. It was clear Amanda genuinely cared about making her feel comfortable and safe, and that meant everything to us. We came home to a happy, relaxed dog and a home that was just as clean and well cared for as we left it, which we truly appreciated, even though we made it clear there was absolutely no expectation. It made returning from our trip so much easier. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and compassionate sitter!
Thanks to Amanda, I am able to relax on my travels! She communicates well and keeps me informed. She had to give meds to my six-month old kitten and handled it very well. She is dependable, trustworthy, and loves animals like they are her own.
