Safety, trust & environment
Safety & Environment: I try my best to follow any house rules set in place by owners (pets not allowed on furniture, waste removal from backyard, etc.). I have received plenty of training on animal safety (CPR, administration of medications, etc.) and always avoid all other animals on walks just to be extra cautious. Safety is always a top priority for me.
Information Allison K. would like to know about your pet
Information I must know of before a sitting includes: Any dietary restrictions or allergies of any kind (While I ALWAYS stick with diets owners have in place, it’s still important to have this information just in case of an emergency), whether or not they receive any medications, reactions to other animals or people in your neighborhood, reactions to inclimate weather such as thunderstorms, whether they have separation anxiety, time span allowed in between walks/potty breaks and feedings, and any other health issues or behaviors worth noting.
A typical day
A typical housesitting day for me (for dogs) would include plenty of walk time or outdoor play that fits with the dogs exercise needs, feedings, some indoor play or stimulation of some kind, lots of pets/belly rubs (if your pup enjoys them of course) and anything else that’ll make your pet feel happy, safe and secure!

Pet care experience
I currently have a 14 year old pomeranian and two cats that I completely adore. I am experienced with many different breeds (both large and small) and behavior types and have an extensive knowledge on dogs and their needs, especially in emergency situations. I have also gained experience working with a variety of other pets, such as cats, birds, snakes, rabbits, gerbils, guinea pigs, geckos and chickens, just to name a few. I aim to be able to offer plenty of care and attention during housesitting stays. I hope to continue gaining more experience and knowledge about and with all types of dogs, as well as be a reliable person to anyone looking for care for their own dogs through Rover. *PLEASE NOTE* I have a part time job in addition to Rover that I typically work 2:30-6:30 PM on weekdays. If this interferes with your scheduling needs then I am probably not the best fit for you unfortunately. Also note that I do not bring my dog with me when house sitting. You never have to worry that I will be bringing my own animals around yours and causing any confusion or anxiety. It’ll just be me looking after your pets, my own pets will be staying home! *** MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE: 1. If we arrange a meet and greet and you make alternate care plans for your animal, PLEASE let me know this before I take the time to come to you for a meet and greet. As a sitter my biggest hope is always that animals are comfortable and well cared for, even if that is not with me. It will not hurt my feelings in the slightest if other plans are made and you have to cancel a meet and greet. They are a free courtesy to allow us both the opportunity to get to know each other and for your pets to get familiar with me, but if alternate plans are made it tends to be a waste of time and gas. If you let me know alternate plans were made I will just be happy your pet is left in good hands! 2. On the topic of meet and greets, I completely understand that some pets are high maintenance or have a bit of anxiety, especially when separated from their owners. I am more than happy to arrange multiple meet and greets to prepare your animals and allow them to get comfortable with me. I know leaving your pets with a new person can be a little scary at first and I always want to help make it a stress-free experience for both the pets, owners, and for me. Don’t hesitate to ask for multiple meet and greets if you feel that is a good fit for you! 3. Please make me aware if you have any cameras on your property as a courtesy. I have absolutely no problem with them and am totally fine with you using them during my visits/sittings, and I completely understand people wanting to check in on their pets or keep porch pirates at bay with ring doorbells, I even use them for my own home. Per Maryland state laws informed consent while recording individuals is important and necessary. Just as I will absolutely respect your privacy and property while dogsitting in your home, I expect respect and courtesy in return. 4. All prices are listed on my profile, I’m happy to answer any questions if something is unclear or if there is any confusion. However, please do not ask to negotiate prices with me as it puts me in an uncomfortable position. Rover takes a percentage, I have to calculate taxes, and I have based my prices upon my amount of experience and credibility. If you have an issue or can’t afford my pricing then I totally understand and respect your decision to search elsewhere! There are plenty of other wonderful sitters to choose from on Rover that fit a wide range of budgets that I’m sure would love to watch your pets. I also have a promo code for first time bookings that I am more than happy to share, just ask! 5. I know pets can get anxious being in the care of a new person so I do my best to maintain their normal schedule per the owner’s needs and requirements but please make sure ANY specific needs are properly communicated beforehand. I’m also always happy to assist with little things around the house such as watering plants, bringing in mail, etc. 6. Please make me aware of any parking specifics. I know some areas have assigned parking spots or guest-specific parking areas, so please let me know in advance so I can avoid any parking tickets or getting towed.
Reviews

Allison took great care of all of my pets and left my house in a great shape! This was my first time using Rover, and I’m so glad I didn’t have to worry about them. I would not hesitate to book with Allison again.

Took care of the little personal needs I was looking for!

Allison always takes great care of all our pets, so happy to have her as our go to rover sitter!

Followed care instructions to a T. Provided daily pictures. My puppers were very happy.
