Hi! I adore dogs and I’d love to take care of yours in your home. I grew up with a dog (a hound mix from the streets of Baltimore) and have had two dogs as an adult. Both of them were rescues and have since sadly passed on. One, Elvis, was a bluetick coonhound mix, and the other, Rufus, was a redboned coonhound mix. I have dog sitting/house sitting experience and can provide non-Rover references. Let’s meet and see how I can help you and your dog! I keep my Rover calendar updated, but please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via text message if you see a date that is marked unavailable as I may be able to accommodate special requests (even last minute) depending upon the circumstances and my availability. Rest assured that your house will be as you left it—if not better—and I will launder the linens I’ve used (if you have a washing machine.) Typically I clean the bathroom and kitchen, since I used those spaces in your absence. Your pets won’t have to adjust to my schedule, I can adapt to their routines, providing consistency with environment, care, and training so they will be comfortable while you are away. (And you can relax as well!) When I’m taking care of more than one dog, I will walk them together or separately, whichever they (& you) prefer. Sometimes dogs prefer the comfort of their friend, other times they like complete freedom to determine the pace and length of the walk. While I’ve never met a dog I didn’t like, I have a special affinity with seniors. I have a lot of patience and am happy to take them for slow walks, at their own pace, so they can sniff until their hearts’ content. I’m happy to handle pet clean-up, mail pickup, and put out the trash on the designated day/s. Communication will be consistently provided throughout your absence through texts, pictures, and videos. If you allow it, I love taking the dogs in my care to the park and to the beach. My car is equipped with a dog leash seat belt so no harm will come to your pet. (I’ve never had an accident.) Currently, I have no pets of my own so I am able to focus all of my energy on yours and providing the attention they deserve while you are away—so you can relax knowing they are well cared for in your home. PS: I also love cats and had one as a child. (We actually got a cat because I wanted one.) Now I have experience caring for both blind and deaf dogs. I will care for your pets exactly how you tell me you’d like me to take care of them: belly rubs, walks, treats, medication administration—whatever is necessary. Plus, I love sleeping with them so that’s not a problem at all. (As long as it is okay with you, of course.)
Ratings and reviews
Allegra was amazing and took such incredible care of our pups. It was clear they were so loved while we were away, and her updates meant everything to us. She went above and beyond, and we came home to a spotless house. Being away for 10 days is tough, but knowing they were with Allegra made it so much easier. We’re so appreciative and have used her a few times now—we will absolutely continue to use her again!
I only wish I could give Allegra six stars! Our dog Minka has always had an issue with boarding. She does not like the kennel and she gets very anxious boarding there. I’ve tried to find someone to board her with, but many people will not take shepherds because of insurance issues. I found Allegra on Rover and was impressed with her reviews. Minka does not do well when she first meets a new person and when Allegra came for an initial interview, Minka was not as friendly as she typically is with family and friends. Allegra was not phased in the least and said she was happy to come back and that she preferred working with big dogs. When Allegra came back to babysit for our four day trip once again, Minka greeted her with barking and suspicion. Again, Allegra was not phased in the least and by the time we got home from our short trip, Minka had been sleeping on the bed with Allegra and didn’t want her to leave. I was beginning to think Minka liked Allegra more than me! Allegra also left the house spotless! I was so relieved that Minka finally had a positive boarding experience that I already have already booked Allegra for two more trips. I would recommend Allegra highly and without reservation.
Allegra was very accommodating to our two very different personality dogs and checked in often! I would highly recommend her to anyone!!!

Allegra was absolutely fantastic with our dog. Our dog has some chronic health issues and is deaf, so we are extra cautious about who watches her. Allegra did a meet and great and I knew she was a great fit. Thoughout the trip she provided pictures and updates and it was great to know our dog was being cared for in the comfort of her own home. I cannot recommend her enough!

My job is online, so I can be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your pets. An Internet connection is appreciated. My schedule allows flexibility to give quality time and personalized care following your specific instructions including exercise, fun activities, and rest, providing consistency and routine in your safe, familiar, and comfortable environment.
