As a full-time veterinary technician and volunteer animal rescue responder, caring for animals is already a central part of my life. At home, I structure my day around the pets in my care — from morning potty breaks and walks to feeding, playtime, and snuggles. I’m home most of the day and night, with only occasional short trips out to the gym or store. Providing a safe, structured, and loving environment for pets isn’t something I “fit in” — it’s what I do every day, both professionally and personally.

Safety, trust & environment

In my home, I provide a calm, structured, and dog-friendly environment where pets can feel safe and relaxed. I supervise all introductions carefully and require a short trial stay to ensure compatibility with my friendly pitbull, Zara. I prioritize crate-trained dogs, especially for nighttime, to maintain routine and safety. Pets are given plenty of potty breaks, walks around the neighborhood, playtime, and attention throughout the day. With my experience as a veterinary technician, I’m also trained to recognize subtle signs of stress, illness, or injury, and I’m comfortable administering medications and caring for dogs with special needs. My goal is always to treat your dog like one of my own — with love, patience, and professional care.

Information Alicia O. would like to know about your pet

It’s important for me to know about your dog’s behavior, routine, and any medical needs before their stay. Please be upfront about things like reactivity, separation anxiety, chewing, marking, crate training, and how they typically do around other dogs. I also need to know if your pet is up to date on vaccinations and flea prevention. Because I have a resident dog (Zara, a friendly pitbull), I require a trial visit before the first booking to ensure everyone gets along and your dog feels comfortable in the space. If your dog has ever shown aggression, fear-based behaviors, or needs specific accommodations, I’m happy to talk through those details — no judgment, just honesty to keep everyone safe and happy!

A typical day

A typical day starts with potty breaks, breakfast, and a morning walk around my quiet, dog-friendly neighborhood. Throughout the day, pets enjoy playtime, cuddles, enrichment toys, and outdoor time in my small fenced backyard. I keep things structured but relaxed — plenty of time for naps, pets, and one-on-one attention. If your dog enjoys it, we might go on a longer walk or do some light training games to keep their mind active. I love tailoring the day to each dog’s personality — whether that means extra playtime, peaceful sunbathing, or just lots of snuggles on the couch. Zara, my friendly Pitbull, is a great companion for dogs who love company, and I always ensure supervised, safe interactions.

With very short notice, Alicia agreed to drop in visits for our 2 cats. I explained that the cats would likely hide when she arrived as they are quite shy with people they don’t know. To our surprise, both cats came out to see her on the first visit! Alicia is very experienced with animals and we felt confident leaving our animals to her care. We will definitely be calling Alicia again!
