Availability
I’m typically available every day of the week! At the moment, my weekday midday availability is somewhat limited, but I currently have good availability for mornings, evenings, and weekends. Since I work from home, I’m able to maintain a flexible schedule and can often accommodate a variety of pet care needs.

Safety, trust & environment
While I would absolutely love to offer boarding, one of my cats prefers to be the king of the house and is not very welcoming to other dogs (he barely tolerates mine), so at this time I only offer walks and drop-in visits. That said, when caring for your pets in your home, I treat them like family and make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. For dogs, a typical 30-minute walk is usually around .75–1.5 miles depending on your pup’s pace and energy level. Drop-in visits are generally 20–30 minutes and are tailored to your pet’s needs. I always try to provide enough physical activity and engagement to help prevent boredom and stress while you’re away. However, your pet’s safety always comes first — especially in the Florida heat. If temperatures are too high for a safe walk, I will substitute with a drop-in visit so your pup can stay comfortable and safe indoors in the A/C. For cats, visits are typically 10–20 minutes depending on their personality and comfort level. Some cats prefer a quick check-in with food and litter care, while others are social and enjoy extra cuddles and companionship.
Information Alexandra B. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for your pet, I always like to learn as much as possible about their routine, personality, and any special needs so I can provide the best care possible. Important information includes feeding schedules, medications, allergies, favorite activities, fears or anxieties, leash behavior, energy level, and anything else that helps your pet feel safe and comfortable. I also appreciate knowing about any household routines, training preferences, and emergency contacts/veterinary information ahead of time. Every pet is unique, and I want to make sure their care feels as consistent and stress-free as possible while you’re away. A meet-and-greet is required prior to booking so both you and your pet can feel comfortable, ask questions, and ensure we’re a great fit for one another. Building trust and making sure your pet feels safe with me is extremely important!
A typical day
Every pet is different, so I always try to tailor visits to their personality, energy level, and routine! For dogs, that usually means walks, playtime, enrichment activities, lots of attention, and of course plenty of belly rubs and treats (with owner approval!). I love helping dogs burn energy in a healthy way so they stay happy, relaxed, and comfortable while their owners are away. For cats, I make sure they receive care in a way that makes them feel comfortable and secure. Some cats enjoy playtime and attention, while others prefer a calm presence, cozy companionship, or simply someone to maintain their routine. I’m happy to spend time cuddling, playing with toys, brushing them, or just keeping them company. No matter the pet, my goal is always to make them feel safe, loved, and cared for while keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible.

Pet care experience
Hi! I'm Alex! I have had pets my entire life, my parents often said we had a zoo! I have had cats, dogs, bunnies, guinea pigs, ferrets, birds (2 macaws and 2 parakeets), snakes, fish and horses. My life wouldn't be complete without my pets! Currently I have four; two cats named Milo & Benton and two dogs - Margo, a Mini Aussie and Nora, a Border Collie. My husband and I are total animal lovers and our babies are BEYOND SPOILED, especially Margo and Nora. They are too cute for their own good! We are very active, and make sure we take the girls on 2-3 mile walks every day (as long as its not to hot!). I also have experience in older animals, as well as administering medicine. I have experience with sick animals that are on medicine and senior animals who need lots of attention (my husbands cat lived to be around 20). My sister and I used to pet sit in high school for people around the neighborhood we grew up in! I absolutely loved it and have been doing it ever since! I have a doctorate degree in education and do work full time but it's my dream to open up a doggy daycare/boarding business!

Reviews

Alexandra was a pleasure to work with. I appreciated the consistent updates and pictures. My cat was very well taken care of!

Alex is my go to pet sitter for my fussy cat, Sam. He does great with her and she has the most calming effect on him. We don’t trust anyone but Alex to take care of him when we travel!
Alexandra B. cancelled a booking 2 days before it was scheduled to begin.

My babies absolutely love Alex. She is great with them and one is very high maintenance. I trust her and couldn’t possibly use anyone else!
