The Dog Companion

Pet care experience

I choose to be a dog companion because I grew up with dogs all my life and have always been involved in their well being. My family and I even brought up a bear in India when I was in my young teens. His name was Django. I did most of the caring for Django. I currently own two Cocker Spaniels, Caleb and Nellie. I inherited Nellie from my best friend Pam, who passed away in August 2022. I took care of Nellie and Tucker, her 2nd dog, when she was too ill to take care of them. Tucker lived to the ripe old age of 16.5 years while under my care.

My dog had the Best stay with Ainla! She is a communicative and confident caregiver. She has two lovely pups of her own and a great fenced backyard for them to play in. Her home is clean and set up for dogs. I felt so at ease leaving my dog with her and she sent updates regularly. We will be returning to her in the future!

Ainla is fabulous. I felt so comfortable leaving my baby with her. She sent video and kept me well updated. Milly came home her happy, goofy self and got plenty of play time with her two pups. I am so happy to have found my new forever dog sitter.

Ainla took great care of our dog. She was very communicative during our stay, providing lots of pictures and videos. When we picked our dog up, we could tell that he had bonded with Ainla and that he had a fun time during his stay. We definitely recommend Ainla and would be happy to work with her again!

Ainla is a seasoned pro. Our pups had a good time and were well taken care of. Ainla went above and beyond. She even threw a birthday party for our oldest girl. So glad we found Ainla. We will definitely board with her again.

I have a fully fenced in backyard. Dog guests play and socialize with each other within my property under my supervision. Its a joy to watch them chase each other in circles. I love sending dog parents videos of them. Meal time: Under my strict supervision so that there is no stealing of food from one bowl to another.... which happens with my bottomless pit Cocker Spaniels. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS: When I have dog boarders, the ALPHA HUMAN ( ME) and the dogs camp out in in the den. They love it and I do too.

Information Ainla L. would like to know about your pet

All vaccinations must be current before boarding or daycare, including Bordetella. Parent's contact information. Vet's contact information for emergencies if parents are away on vacation. Unfortunately, I cannot board any aggressive dogs no matter how sweet natured the owner claims the dog to be. This is for my own protection and the protection of my other doggie guests. SENIOR DOGS over 15 years: Unfortunately I have stopped boarding senior dogs over 15 years old. High energy dogs and very senior dogs together are not a good combination in my years of dog boarding experience. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS: When I have dog boarders, the ALPHA HUMAN ( ME) and the dogs camp out in in the den. They love it and I do too. Some parents prefer their dogs be crated for the night , which is fine with me. Injections: I am not comfortable with giving injections. I am comfortable and used to administrating oral medications including eye drops and ear medication. *Adult doggies must be potty trained. *Puppies under 7 months must be in the process of being potty trained. I will continue with their potty training for consistency while family is away. * MEET & GREET: Absolutely essential for extended stays. I have had dogs stay in my home in Princeton NJ for up to 3 months. Once parents were at peace with leaving their beloved dogs under my care, they were able to enjoy their vacations and visits with their families in another country or state. I sent videos regularly of beloved dogs playing or just chillin' via video . I have a client who transferred form CA to Princeton University plonk her two rescues with me on the first day of their lives in Princeton NJ. I assure the same peace of mind to dog parents in Florida. *Two hours freebie day care the first time for your dog to socialize with me, my dogs and any dog guest with me that day. The freebie is for all of us to socialize with each other in the two hours. Time slot is any 2 hours of your choice between 11 am and 6 pm. * I will give a list of things my dog guest will need from the parents at the time of a confirmed booking.

A typical day

Walking: I use a short non retractable leash for walking. My dog trainer taught me that. Most dogs enjoy playing "Fetch" . I have a few" self entertaining" toys inside the house to keep them occupied if they choose to entertain themselves. I prefer my dogs guests socializing and playing with each other in my property including a large fenced in yard, for their own safety and protection, always under my supervision. I follow feeding instructions as per the parents instructions.

I operate my dog business out of my home. My dog guests and I hang out in my home with a fully fenced in large backyard. I am absolutely content with being their human companion while their family is away. Like wise, they are my companions and there is never a dull moment with them.
