marked best answer Has anyone set their business up as an LLC after starting with rover?

I have considered setting up my pet sitting business as an LLC since I pet sit in my home. I -almost- want the added protection even though the client signs a rover contract to protect rover and sitters. With the homeowners insurance, protection package and rover client contract, my husband doesn't want me to spend the extra money. I would like to ask why and if it is worth it due to the rover protection?

answered a question Does a repeat booking have to go through Rover?

Grace & Ezra are correct, you are bound by the contract. If you took the customer that's re-booking off rover and something happen to the dog or the customer was very dissatisfied and the owner contacted rover, rover could close your account or at least, suspend it for a period of time for breach of contract. Make sure to go in and read the rules and contract you and the customer have agreed to when you set up your account.

answered a question Can I post a review on an owner?

Deb is correct if the message conversations gives you pause or cause for concern then flag and let rover know. After the service is completed you are asked to review the dog. I had a repeat customer that started becoming a problem. So, when I reviewed the dog(s) which were great, I gave great detail about the customer dropping the dog(s) a night earlier than booked, not wanting to pay for that night and when they finally did due to me sending lots of messages to pay, they picked up a full day after the pick up date.

answered a question How does client phone number work?

Both customers and rover hosts have a phone number (not your personal number), that is used for contacting each other. You can also do the drop down box (your requests and booked services) and see (Customer Name) may call your Rover number: "anytime", "once you booked a stay or walk" or "never". That would be your personal preference.

I usually give the customer my own phone # (and address) when the meet & greet is booked. The customer and you aren't suppose to see each others real ph # but in the past, I see the customers' real phone number come up on my caller ID so I know whose calling and if it is a customer. Otherwise, if I don't recognize the number I won't answer the phone but check a few minutes later for a message. I get to many robo calls.

answered a question How do I manage my availability with gaining new clients at times that I am not busy?

Hi Krysta, You can mark yourself "repeats only". If someone does have your rover link that isn't a repeat, they would be able to contact you whether you are on repeats or unavailable.

answered a question how do i look for people that need sitters and walkers ?

Hi Jordan, Your profile started out great. Make sure to go in and complete it. Next, ask for "testimonials" from family, friends and anyone you have provided pet services for. The picture shows cute kitties. But, if you want to dog walk, you should have a picture of yourself with your dogs.

You can't search for someone needing dog walks on the rover site. We are all hosts providing pet services. So, you need to do your own advertising. Do you have business cards? Get some if not, then go to grooming salons, let your vet know the services you offer and ask to leave your cards. Also, leave them at pet friendly Hotels and Apartments. These are just a few places. Also, advertise on Nextdoor. Do a search in this forum as there have been plenty of suggestions on how to get business. Good Luck.
