I recently had two stays over the holidays with pet owners paying 40 a night. But I don't have any other stays lined up, so I'm wondering if I need to lower my rate. Any thoughts? what is an appropriate rate to charge for overnight stays in my home?
What I did, just starting out, was to look at the going rate in my community based on the other local sitters and I stayed toward the lower end of pricing because I'm new to Rover. I have plenty of experience but not on a "professional" level, mostly volunteer and personal. I think Rover recommends the same: look at what local people are charging and start off at the lower end to begin with. Hope this helps! I got my first stay this holiday season.

Yep, like Ronila said, take a look at the prices in your area. Rover even gives you the average price for your zip code to help you out. Don't go above the average until you've gotten a few reviews, and then still keep an eye on the spread of prices closest to you (the map function in the search can help with this)... even if you're above average, if you're lower than the high prices in your neighborhood you'll probably get a few more requests that way.
