How do I get reviews on my profile?

I'm trying to figure out how to get reviews from recent pet owners whose dogs have stayed at my house. Does anyone know how to do that?

The fastest, most effective way to get reviews is to ask. Before I started asking for reviews, maybe 30% of my customers would review. I could have donated my dog's kidney to theirs, and they still wouldn't review the stay. Obviously going above and beyond will get a good review IF they leave one, but the only way to ensure that they do is to simply ask. Usually, they're more than happy to if you do.

Thanks, this was helpful!

I have asked the client for a review and nothing. It's disappointing when you do a good job, send photos and they can see their dog is happy. But there's nothing you can do if they don't want to take a moment or two to leave a review.

If you're looking to approach asking for a review from a marketing perspective, here are some tips:

  1. Timing: Choose the right time to ask for a review. Ideally, it's best to ask for a review shortly after the service has been provided, while the experience is still fresh in the client's mind. Waiting too long may result in the client forgetting or losing interest in leaving a review.

  2. Personalization: Tailor your request to the client. Use their name and reference their pet specifically. This personal touch shows that you value their individual experience and are genuinely interested in their feedback.

  3. Highlight the impact: Emphasize how important reviews are to your business and how they can help you improve your services. For example, you could say something like, "Your feedback can make a real difference in helping me provide the best possible care for pets in the future."

  4. Offer an incentive: Consider offering a small incentive, such as a discount on their next booking or a free add-on service, in exchange for leaving a review. This can provide an extra motivation for clients to take the time to leave a review.

  5. Use a direct call-to-action: Clearly ask clients to leave a review, using a direct call-to-action. For example, you could say something like, "If you had a great experience with me, please take a moment to leave a review on Rover. Your feedback is highly appreciated!"

  6. Follow up with a reminder: If you haven't heard from a client regarding a review after a certain period of time, you can send a polite follow-up reminder. Avoid being pushy or aggressive, but gently remind them about the importance of their review.

Remember, it's essential to be transparent, genuine, and in compliance with the policies of the platform you're using for your pet sitting services, in this case Rover. Always prioritize the satisfaction and privacy of your clients while using marketing strategies to encourage reviews.

Good luck!

Owners can only leave reviews for you on Rover if the stay was booked through Rover. Previous clients who haven't booked through Rover can leave you testimonials, which help your search ranking, but don't give you a star rating. Once you start booking clients through Rover, you can start accumulating reviews.

How do you leave a testimonial for someone? I used a sitter before rover and want to leave some comments.

The sitter can request testimonials via their profile. If you want to leave one, contact the sitter and have them email you the link.

When a sitter views their own profile, there's a "Request Testimonials" button underneath their reviews.
