Look for sits?

I have been sitting for other sites where I have looked at ads wanting someone to sit their dogs. I apply and get the job. I am not able to look for people needing sitters on Rover. Am I doing something wrong? If not, could this become an option for Rover? I want to sit in the dog's home. I think the dog is more comfortable in that situation.

Some sites allow people needing services to post ads and have interested parties submit applications. Rover works the other way - sitters list their services and owners search for someone who will meet their needs. You will maintain your profile showing the services you provide (in your case, that would probably be travel sitting) and calendar and owners will send inquiries if they think you would be a good match for their pets.

Is my profile set up correctly for being a traveling sitter?

Yes, right now it says you provide care in the client's home.

Thank you for checking it. I am wanting to post on Craigslist while I am in Kansas City but it says I want to host. Is there a way to change that? You are very helpful.

I haven't posted to Craigslist, so I'm not a good resource for that, though you could always write your own ad with whatever info you wanted (and a link to your Rover profile) rather than using the template Rover provides.

thank you so much for your help. I hope to be reeling in the sits soon!

Thanks, and good luck!

Hi, What you've described is referred to as being a traveling sitter, who goes to the dog's home. You can set up a profile offering that service on Rover. Rover is set up for the dog owners to review and contact sitters ... you will not be able to search/look for the owners.
