Has anyone else gotten little to no requests the last couple months?

I signed up in November 2022 and had at least one request come through a day. I did not accept all of them but I at least had a lot of communication about potential bookings then I went away in December and had my status set to away for 2-3 weeks and since then I've barely gotten anything. I called Rover and spoke with them about this but they said that all they could tell me was that my profile was active, but it just seems like something is off. I even make sure my calendar is updated each day, sometimes multiple times a day so that it is most recent. I also tried changing my profile picture and my profile which seemed to be good before for the other people, but I am not sure what else to do and was relying on this for some income at the moment. Has anyone else had this happen? If so, how have you fixed it?

I looked up your profile and you are only available March 26, 27, 28 and 29 otherwise your whole year is marked as unavailable. That's why you are not getting any requests. You have to change it in your calendar.

Winter months can be a slow season for many sitters. You may consider changing your service area to no larger than 10 miles. yours looks large. Start offering cat care

Hi Walt, why does having a service area less than 10 miles help? Does that improve your ranking in search results for a specific area?

Thanks for your response, Walt! I was thinking the larger the area the better since I would have more coverage, but it seems like I don't really come up for people on the first or second page if they are say 12 miles away and I set to 10 - it seems to show the people closet, but I will change & see

Setting a large service area can and does exclude you from appearing in search results. While you think it makes sense for traveling services, it doesn't.

Your profile only shows that you are only available for a 4 days this month, everything else is marked as unavailable. I think you may have meant to put unavailable for those four days rather than the other way around. This is most definitely why you're not getting requests. And I'm not sure what the above person is talking about when they say to reduce your service radius - increasing it does give you more options. I personally got more requests when it was bigger, but had to reduce it because I was getting too many requests that were a pain to get to.

Although your profile may be active, check that your services are set to "accepting new clients" and not "past clients only". I noticed a few times this happened to me and I had to correct it but I also contacted Rover support because I wasn't sure why they changed it without my knowledge. I always check it now, at least every week, just to make sure it's still on "accepting new clients".
