How do I stop that Rover ask about tipping to my clients?

I did not know that Rover ask about tipping. My client gave me it. I was shocked and made me so sad. Because I set my rate that is included everything! I did not expect any extra money to get from dog owner and I do not work for getting tip. I give dogs and their owners all of my love and nice service even if I do not have a tipping. I never expected tips. Also, this system keeps clients away. Is there any button for tipping??? How does Rover ask tips to my clients??? I don't have a dog, therefore, I never used Rover as a client. How could I stop asking for tips? If Rover thinks that asking for a tip from a client is a good thing for all sitters, it's a mistake. I'm not happy at all, so I want Rover to stop on my site immediately. At the very least, I want Rover to be able to choose whether to ask for a tip or not. I have the right. It's welcome to ask for a review, and that's enough for me.

Please be assured that the vast majority of Rover clients ignore that message about tipping and don't feel pressured in anyway to do so.

In your situation, I would just tell clients when they pick up their pets that, if they receive a message from Rover asking for a tip, that you don't need one and your published rate is all-inclusive but you have no way of disabling that process. Tell that you aren't expecting a tip and will not think badly of them for not leaving one. You could have little cards printed up saying, "it was a pleasure taking care of _. I hope that you will contact me again in the future. A positive review is all I ask. No tip is needed." Or something along those lines.

You could also contact Rover Customer Support at [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team] to tell that you'd like to be able to control this post-stay feature, but I really doubt they'll care

Thank you Karen! It’s a great advice. I do your advice one when my client pick up. I send a message to Rover. I understand some sitter would be happy or don’t care or don’t mind what Rover ask tipping. But I’m not. Humiliated. They should not do it without my permission. Destroyed my trust.

Similar to Karen’s suggestion, you could message your clients that it was a pleasure taking care of (insert pets name here) & you look forward to doing so again soon. If rover sends them a message about tipping, they can ignore it. The best way for them to show their appreciation of your services is through repeat bookings, referrals to other pet parents, and positive reviews.

I appreciate your advice and how to write a card. The specific sentence is very helpful cause English is my second language. Whether I ask for a tip or not is my right to do the work, not Rover's right. Positive review, Repeat bookin, Is great gift for me.

Glad it helped. I understand - repeat bookings and good referrals are valued by other sitters too.

Hi Deb, Rover really send messages to clients asking to tip? I wasn't aware of this. They just send a random message to a client saying I want to be tipped? Thanks in advance.

Hi Lenka, I was not aware of this, but Yukiko stated her customers experienced this

Thanks Deb. I will contact Rover directly to ask about it. I have never heard this, and it seems weird that Rover solicits tips on behalf of randomly selected sitters? I am aware they send an email asking for a review.

I made a Christmas card and mentioned about tip issue. I wrote the sentence Karen & Deb taught me and asked my client to ignore the tip. Thank you Karen&Deb.

Hi, Lenka. I didn't know that Rover asks clients for a tip. I had an email from Rover > You’re a superstar Congrats—you just got a tip from...Check it out:< then I knew that. I ask Rover directly and Rover answer me how do they ask my client. It was shocked and made me sad. They ruin my trust.

These is a percentage button from 5 to 20 and custom. I have no idea when do they start to ask and I don't know Rover take commission from this tip?? I felt Rover became a money monster.

Oh no, Yukiko it's not like that. When the client leaves a review, they also have an option to tip (just like uber or lyft or other apps). They are NOT required or forced. They can tip ZERO if they prefer! Don't be upset, it's this way everybody :)
