Is my address shared with a sitter before actually booking with them?

I’m worried that a sitter has my address before I actually booked with them. I contacted a sitter and she said she would be able to sit for me. But when I asked for a meet and greet beforehand to meet my dogs, I never got a response which seemed odd. So now I’m Wondering if her profile was fake and that someone has my home address???

No, Rover supplies nothing about the customer prior to booking. Since I don't know what service you requested, I can also tell you that if you book boarding, the itinerary provided to the sitter will not have your home address either. However, I would expect that information to be provided for house sitting, dog walking and drop-ins because there's a need to know. But only after the booking is confirmed and paid.

Rover shares approximate location when you send a request. Now, this is not done to upset you, but your potential sitter needs to know how far away you're located. Some people here just send a mass request to tens of sitters, even if they don't live in the same town. Your approximate location allows the sitter to see how far you are, and make a decision whether she/he wants to work for you. No verified sitter has a fake profile in order to get your home address. If you are very worried, please contact Rover or your local PAR officer.
