Do sitter preferences not get filtered?

As a Rover sitter you can set up your preferences of the types of dogs that you are able to take care of for ex: unneutered pet, puppies, senior pets etc. We have a preference that we do not accept high energy dog, yet we still get requests from owners with high energy dogs. I know not accepting dogs affects our position in the search results, but that's why we have this preference to not lower our score. It was my understanding that our preferences would help filter dogs like these - is that not the case? If not why even have these preferences if they don't do anything for us? Any help would be appreciated! TYIA

Like many things on the Rover platform preferences sometimes work sometimes they don't

Can you provide daily exercise for high-energy dogs? is the preference but Clients have no way to classify their dog(s)
