Should I add daycare rates in addition to boarding?

When someone drops a dog off at 5am, then picks it up late evening the next day or whatever, shouldn’t they also be charged for daycare rates? Most dog boarding places on board from like 4pm-12pm. With Rover, we have that dog all day and all night. Can we set specific hours on our profile? I saw one lady put boarding is 6pm and pick up at noon. Can we do that? Otherwise, I think boarding should cost way more because it’s really taking advantage of us, considering Rover takes such a large percentage. I would think the hours of 9-5 count as daycare, and anytime after I’d boarding?

You don't have to do anything. Rover will charge them automatically for the extra time if they enter their drop-off and pick-up times into the system when it is booked. This change went into effect last year. Rover charges an amount of either 50% or 100% of your nightly rate, depending on the overage. it is called Extended Care and shows up on your rate table with the following explanation:

Nightly rates are based on a 24 hour time period from drop-off to pick-up. The following extended care rates may apply for each pet on the booking if the end time on the final day of the stay is more than 2 hours later than the start time on the first day of the stay. This ensures that sitters are compensated for their additional time.

2-8 additional hours: +50% of the sitter’s nightly rate.

8+ additional hours: +100% of the sitter’s nightly rate.
