Owners extended dogs stay another 6 nights (17 total) and I have run out of his food provided. I am sharing my dogs food with him of course but wondering if it would appear that I was "Cheap" if I modified stay cost $10.00 for food ?

7 days food for current pup in my care provided so far. Is $10.00 a reasonable ask for reimbursement ?

Although you could add a modification for food, I’d suggest it would be better for the pup and you to keep the pup eating usual food. Changing a dogs diet, especially abruptly, even if it’s to a higher quality, will often result in irregularities with the G.I. system (be prepared for a whole lot of messy output clean up). Some dogs are much more sensitive than others, have preferences towards specific proteins, and sometimes medical conditions which dictate what they can process well.

If the owners are willing and able, they can order to be shipped or authorize you as designated person to pick up. If not, you can get and present the receipt for reimbursement upon return to owners

I would bring it up… it may just be an oversight (they ARE out of town…) just ask… he’ll be out of food, how do you prefer to handle that? If you will order it, I can pick it up, etc… I can purchase and modify… whatever is easier for you.
