Sitters do not respond after I request meet and greet?

I have contact 5 sitters, 3 of them responds that says that they can but then stop responding after I requested meet and greet? 1 of them just didn't respond at all. I haven't used Rover for nearly two year, but is this a new norm or something? Sitters not wanting to meet before hand?

(I am an owner, need someone to walk my dog for 5 days, so it is not like a single day deal or something...)

That is odd to me. I prefer a meet and greet to make sure it is a good fit for both parties. They should definitely be responding to you and atleast saying no if they aren't intersted. I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with this!

I agree. If these animals are such an important part of our lives, and a sitter can't find the time for a short meet and greet, they aren't serious about a sitting job, and how important that meeting is to us as owners 💔

It is very likely none of them are interested in doing a meet and greet after they learned you contacted 5 people and want to schedule a meet and greet with all of them and then you'll decide if you even want to hire one of them.

There's nothing wrong with contacting as many people as possible, and wanting to see them all and talk and see how things go, this is totally understandable and it is recommended to talk to as many people as possible, but you should talk to them first and talk on the phone or zoom before meeting up in person. These days many people are not looking to meet up in person due to covid reasons.

Another thing is, many sitters are not interested in meeting and then waiting for you to decide if you like them or not. Some won't even respond back. It's nothing personal, it's only shows they are not looking to waste their time with a meet and greet that is not going to guarantee they'll get hired.

You should really talk on the phone and zoom, and ask every single question you can think of, and then narrow down your picks. Good luck in your search!

It's surprising that's happening. Please call customer support for help at [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team]. They will be in best position to make suggestions, perhaps contact walkers on your behalf, and also review the profiles of non-responsive sitters.

A lot of scams happen on rover. A meet and greet screens out those scams so you are probably just protecting yourself.
