Anyone else hate paypal?

I swear, I am about to blow a gasket. WHY can't we have another payment option other than paypal? Its 2019, Rover.... how about getting into the current decade? rrrghhhhggh.

Yes, I know we can also get a check. Hello 1985. But with the various options out there, it seems we could have at least one other electronic payment option, preferably one that doesn't suck.

Can we start a Venmo revolution please?

I agree, I use Venmo all the time. I wish they had a Venno option.

I myself do not like PayPal because because the instant transfer fee. I prefer using Cash App

if you order a PayPal cash card which is free, what do you know! PayPal is pretty awesome because whenever you get any money put on their direct deposit or whatever it may be, it automatically becomes available on your PayPal cash card and you can go get the cash back, ATM or use the card.

Yes, I agree, I would like Rover to use Venmo, it is easy and safe and quick, unlike a check! I feel your pain

Once you get PayPal set up right, there great, and trusted. But the new Stripe service is straight corruption from a company that can't be reported to American regulators. Don't give them your Bank info!!! Just let Rov. account build up, it won't be long, Rov. will drop them.

Have you had a problem with Paypal? I've been using it since it first came on the scene, mainly for eBay, and haven't really had any problems. My funds get transferred in one business day.

Since Paypal owns Venmo, you would think there might be some cross-app functionality. But it appears that Paypal is more suited to businesses (a merchant account). This article is pretty good at explaining the slight differences and why businesses haven't embraced Venmo:

Good luck with your revolution though. :-)

Not sure what your beef is with PayPal but it has always worked fine for me with Rover payments for the past 3+ years. Sure it may be nice to have other options, but if it ain't broke why change it?

I agree, I love it! Never had a problem.

I too am happy with PayPal.

I actually have both a PayPal and Venmo account and have not had any issues with either.

If I need to transfer money to my bank account, I can very easily. It only takes a day or two to transfer money. I also find their customer service reps have been very helpful. When shopping online- a lot of retailers take PayPal. (which makes shopping super easy and convenient). One extra bonus that I like with PayPal is that you can get a card which in a sense is like a prepaid debit card. It is linked to my PayPal account so if I have the funds in my PayPal account I can swipe outside of the internet and the funds get pulled directly out of my PayPal account.

I would be curious if you could be more specific on what you are upset or having issues with? Maybe one of us can help give you tips so PayPal works better for you.

Best of Luck!

PayPal used to be so easy but with the email confirmation it is quite frustrating. Why not Venmo?

How do you transfer money from PayPal to your bank account?

I, too, am very curious as to the issues you're having with PayPal. I've been using it for years and have never had any problems. Money transfers into my account easily, and it's easy for me to transfer money to bank. I don't use the debit/credit card they offer, but I have a friend who does and uses that more than her bank account. The only problem I ever had was with setting up the ability to take credit cards through a reader which ended up being a combination of user error and very tight security. But I didn't really need it as I have Square. Maybe if you provide some more details on the issues you're having we can help more? Good Luck!

My beef with Paypal is that its an all or nothing set up. I use it for other activities, and when there is an issue with ONE payment, ALL of your funds are held hostage.

I had 3 Rover payments and one small payment from another source. The amount was not what I expected. I didn't want to accept OR decline the payment until I heard back from the sender. They had to research the amount. I am not able to accept only the Rover payments, its an all or nothing choice. I called paypal and they told me to 'just transfer the amount you are accepting" but that isn't even an option. You have to accept before you transfer, and I didn't want to accept all of it.

It was just really frustrating to have hundreds held hostage by $25, and even more frustrating to find that Paypal help doesn't even know how their own system works.

Grump over, but still working on the revolution! ;)

It sounds like the easiest fix is truly to have other non-Rover sources of funds deposit into some other account, since there isn't really any issue with Rover deposits. Maybe direct those other payments to Venmo, since that's your preference.

That does seem odd that no funds are available b/c one is in dispute. I've never had that issue so I don't have a work around. I can say, too, I've never had to "accept" or "decline" payments. Maybe you have a different type of set up than I do. Good luck!

The way they say 'accept the money' implies all of it. If you select that, click next, select when/where you want it xferred, then next, it brings up a screen for you to input how much you want to accept and transfer.

I don't hate PayPal. But I do wish there was another option for payment, especially direct deposit. I lose out on my bank benefits simply because my job can't do DD and PayPal doesn't have that option anywhere either. \

I don't like using PayPal either - had to create an account just to get paid by Rover without the add-on fee.

PayPal DOES have a direct deposit option. Pretty sure, saw it on there just yesterday

Well you got you wish. It’s a dumpster fire.

I’ve been trying to add a bank card or back account to my PayPal and keep gettin I have limitations to my account even after the proof of ID and ss# I do agree there should be another way to connect for payment it’s ridiculous cause I can’t even get money from rover cause my paypal been acting up this been going on for a month now it’s to the point I feel like there’s no reason to accept walks if I’m never going to receive my money and I don’t feel comfortable with a check cause rover already takes a large fee from walks and babysitting and ect so the extra $2 fee is ridiculous

I am with you. I freaking hate PayPal. The fact that I have to transfer my money twice just to have it in my regular bank account is absolutely ridiculous. I've had to wait 5 days also before receiving my money because it's in PayPal holding limbo. The fact is that that is our money that we worked for and we should be able to access it as soon as possible, not wait for PayPal to decide that we are worthy enough to receive it. Add another to your payment revolution for additional deposit choices! The people must be heard!!!!!!😄👍

What’s wrong with PayPal? I made two small purchases in January between the 2nd and 10th. It was the only time I had used PayPal for several years. A few weeks ago when I went to link it to Rover, I couldn’t access the account so I called their customer service. The computer recognized my account but the associates couldn’t find it. Long story short the account was locked. They said they payment hadn’t cleared (<$15), was over 200 days late and had been turned over to collections. This was all news to me since there was no reason for the bank not to have honored it (the first charge was paid), I also had received NO Emails requesting payment (I keep all my emails, and regularly check my junk folder so it didn’t go there) They treated me like I was stupid and lying. I offered to pay them, they refused and said I had to pay the collection company.... Today I went back to my bank and got printouts of the statements for that time, the first payment shows, but the 2nd payment charge was NEVER submitted for payment by the bank. Now, they’ve been hurting my credit for months without my knowledge and I can’t process Rover thru them because they’ve frozen the account, and it IS THEIR error!

See if submitting a complaint to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau starts the process of getting that fixed. https://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Thanks for responding Karen. I tried your link but got a 404 page not found error. Can you tell me the specific page you were recommending?

Looks like this messageboard attached some html code to the link. However, on that 404 page, you should see a link to the Home Page, which is what I was linking to. If not, you will see a paragraph break code at the end of the url, which you just get rid of and it will take you to the home page.

I'd prefer another payment option available. Other companies and individuals use direct deposit all day long.
