What do you do if someone pays you to stay at their home to watch their dog but they have two cats they didn't pay for? Am I still responsible?

I am new to Rover and didn't know what to do when I was told not to worry about the two cats, one of which I'd likely not see. The owner only paid for her dog, and it was an overnight stay. I did, however, play with both kitties and keep them out of mischief, like almost knocking over a vase. What do you do in this case? And how do I handle it in the future? I feel as though I am still responsible if the cats were jeopardized in any way on my watch.

If an owner doesn't have all their pets listed on their profile and on the booking request I politely ask them to add them so they are covered by the Rover guarantee. So to answer your queston you are responsible for all pets under your care custody and control during a booking. Best of luck in the future

Question..if owner specifically requested no care for cats (like the one above did), then isn't sitter free of responsibility for them? I'm guessing owner doesn't care about guarantee b/c he isn't asking for cat care.

In my opinion any and all animals that are in the home are under the care, custody and control, of the sitter even if they aren't listed on the booking. If something happens the sitter can be held liable and Rover won't help

You've got a point. You never know what might happen.
