Fishy requests from other sitters?

Hi fellow sitters,

I got a boarding request the other day, and after several messages to the requester she has not responded at all. This would not be terribly weird, except that I clicked on her profile and saw that she is a Rover sitter as well. Her profile is actually very thorough.

Is it possible that she is making boarding requests to try to lower the booking scores of others in our area? Is this something that has happened to anyone else? I obviously don't have any proof that this is why she's not responding, but it is very fishy.

I'm not really sure what to think, or what to do to make sure this doesn't happen again. Any advice is appreciated!

This Also happened to me when I first started my profile. I responded to a reoccurring walking gig and she immediately told me she had found someone else.

Performance scores and searching rankings have little to do with each other. Booking scores are only a measure for you to see what percentage you are at, and do not impact where you appear in the rankings. And you should only accept bookings that are right for you.

If you really are concerned with this sitter you always have the option to contact support. Once reported they can look at the sitter's activity and see if they have sent out multiple booking requests and not completed a booking. Best of luck to you.

It may just be coincidence that she is also a Rover sitter. I have had many cases over the years where I exchange messages with a potential client and then they stop responding. It's a behavior that we just have to accept and move on. There are a myriad of reasons why that happened.

Maybe she reached out to more than one person and someone else replied before you? I probably would have at least let someone know i didn't need their services if I did that but then again I probably wouldn't have reached out to more than one person at a time anyway.
