Overnight care totaling 36 hours - how do i charge?

Hello,

I've recently cared for two dogs for two separate clients and the total care time for each of these stays was around 36 hours (7am on Saturday to 7pm on Sunday).

I feel that this should have a larger fee that the straight "overnight" fee.

How do other sitters work around this? And how do you message this to your clients without sounding rude?

Thank you, Rose

I had allot of that in the beginning. Clients try to take advantage. Put in your profile service is for 24 hrs only. Anything over that is charged at daycare rates. Remind booked clients of pick up time.

The app will not let me make changes to my profile or I'm not doing it correctly any suggestions?

The way other sitters "work around" this is by asking the client for drop-off and pickup times before accepting a booking. That way you can adjust the bill before the client pays. I always get that information from first-time customers at our M&G and then I explain how each "night" is good for up to 24 hours of care. No one has ever quibbled about it. If they come back in the evening, after a morning drop-off, then I'll adjust the bill. They're with me for anything over 10 waking hours, I will likely charge them for another full night. If you have a daycare rate, you can typically use that.

Totally agree. It's important to nail down drop-off/pick-up times in advance, and clearly explain your pricing. I also charge for overnights based on 24hrs and then I go by my daycare rate.
