I just received my first negative review which not only false and based on accusations that were not even remotely true. Is there a policy to remove bogus reviews?

Long story short. I had a house sitting earlier during August for a few days I provided the proper care information and I also left the place clean and even provided evidence to rover support and yet they reported damages to the home Yet again I also provided all pictures that proved that I did everything correct I have over 67 reviews and all of them five stars minus that one dang house sitting which also I reported to customer support because I was bitten several times but one of the dogs as it’s the correct thing to do I just don’t understand why this is even allowed

The owners obviously couldn’t file any credible evidence since rover did not provide reimbursement because of that lack of proof but yet were allowed to leave a negative review based on false accusations. Despite that fact I’m pretty livid that some people would go great lengths to even consider doing that

Is there a policy that allows removal of these ridiculous bogus reviews?

I just feel that there is absolutely no justification and even my testimonials have proven that I am not the pet sitter that I described and it’s really hurtful that some people go to great lengths. Making contradictory statements and also making the report on property damage a day after and refused to even provide me the evidence that showed this.

You need to realize that your response to a negative review matters more than a negative review. If you respond in a classy way then the person reading your reviews will see that it's the other person's problem, not yours. But if you respond with accusations and anger then that puts doubt in their mind.

I understand and I agree Thank you for the advice The anger got the best of me

If it helps, it appears that no bad reviews are posted.

I thought the same at first because you have to click on more to see the negative part, plus I was prompted to read more based on Joel's response to it. It is Janet B. I see Joel has had many clients come to his defense and her review is way back in the pack.

Also if you read all the 8/25 reviews and testimonials that Joel has solicited from friends and clients, you'll see how they reference a negative review. They are long and some use ugly language. All of that calls more attention to the original review, which had been buried.

I don’t see how anyone used ugly language The fact that she made a false accusations and claims againsts me without any proof and I was able to prove and counter her statements during the written dispute

I understand what you’re saying but using slanderous remarks because Rover wouldn’t cover her damages. Which obviously there wasn’t any is ridiculous and shouldn’t even be allowed to leave a negative review

She also got a full refund despite there wasn’t any justification. Submitted false statements and disputes and her dogs biting me which I submitted. In my opinion, people that use rover to heir advantage to make sitters look bad shouldn’t be allowed

As soon as the word "liar" is used, the tone becomes ugly.

That may be true I’m sorry I’m just frustrated about this situation and how it was handled

I’m over it and moving forward and appreciate your insight and although she was extremely dishonest and even my work and pictures speak otherwise I’ve never had this happen to me and it caught me by suprprise and anger I like to leave everything perfect. So this “bad review” was outrageous to me

I will thank you so much

I looked it up too. If Rover stands by you, it's all good. You should not ask your friends to post replies. You turned your page into Facebook drama. Your reviews have been perfect, so let it go. Obviously the lady is unhappy, but your replies and your friends replies are making it worse. Just let it go. Apologize to the lady (even though you are right and she's wrong) and let it go. I am sure her review will not affect your business because it's a blatant lie, even for me to see and I have never met you before :)

I agree with others that you should, if you have not already, ask for Rover to remove your friend and other clients comments to support you, Write a neutral comment to the lady and remember that you advertise that you take on difficult dogs...I think it is awful you were bit and maybe you should just let it go as I would never pay attention to one bad review even if someone only had 10 other great reviews. I would know it was the person or some fluke. I hope you really know what an awesome sitter you are and don't let this jade you in any way.
