How do I get a first booking?

I just moved to Florida to start school and made a Rover profile when I got here! I have experience walking dogs (including a therapy dog in training and caring for a blind and deaf dog). I have this experience advertised on my profile as well as a testimonial from an owner of a dog I walked for 3 years. I I made the account about 3 weeks ago and I have not recieved one single request!

How do you guys advertise?

I advertised on craigslist and on nextdoor. I got my first request within two weeks of joining. I also made sure to get 3 clients who I've been dog siting for before I joined to Rover to leave me reviews as soon as I created the account to build my credibility.

Welcome to Rover, for most of us it took time, sometimes lots of time to get that first booking. I searched Davie Fl for sitters and what I found were most only had a few reviews that are indicative that Rover is not yet that strong in your area. You about me section focuses on walks yet you have set your service area very small this will not help you in finding clients that maybe only several miles away. I also noticed the two testimonials, they are from the same person, same date same write-up, I would contact Rover support and have one renewed. Your background picture is fuzzy I would change it. Take and pass the Rover 101 quiz and get the badge it is important.

One standby for attracting clients is posting tear-off flyers on local bulletin boards they do work. Also, find and join local facebook groups that will allow you to post your services.

Best of luck

Hang in there Brianna, don't give up. It took 2 months to get my first Rover sitting and I live in rural Northern Michigan. Once I got that first one everything fell into place. The owner from my first booking told someone, who told someone, etc. and I have been swamped ever since starting in May. I am now having to turn down requests weekly. Just hang in there and it will happen. Also make sure you tell everyone and anyone you know what you are doing. I agree with what Walt said too. I notice he didn't mention posting on Craigslist. Walt is that something else she should try?
