How do you avoid flakey meet and greets?

Hoping this is the right question to ask. We are new to Rover and have spent a lot of time making our profile attractive, uploading the right pictures, taking the certifications that Rover offers to add to your profile, even went as far as submitting to RoverGo. We have a designated place with mats and kennels we purchase JUST to do this sort of thing.

While we are relatively new, but have yet to book a client. We have had several inquiries-- even booked a meet & greet. People book our dates and ask questions, but then never respond back. For the meet and greet-- we didn't hear back from the girl who visited and we thought we would have been a great fit, but then when we asked why she said she found someone else.

This is frustrating especially while we have invested so much time and money just for potential client's to not take us seriously.. While I feel the meet and greet option COULD be beneficial, I honestly feel it has been a big waste of my time. I wish they gave you a feedback option for clients to put in why they did not choose to go through you. Rover already takes a portion of income, but there seems to not be any support on how to hit the ground running.

Feeling frustrated. Feed back greatly appreciated....

Well, I've been doing this for about a year and a half now. Most of my Meet & Greets go quite well. I don't know what my conversion rate is (because I don't keep track) but its roughly around 75% or better.

I don't have any magic bullet solution for you, but what I have started doing lately is I tell them just to contact me an hr. before the time they want to come and I'll arrange to meet them. That way the odds of them flaking are a bit less.

Meet and greets are the cornerstone of successful pet sits, never discount how important they are to both you and the client. That said it takes time, sometimes considerable time to build a client base that you can count on. Looking at your profile I see lots of unavailability for all your services -- that alone will can cause many clients to never consider you because if they start a booking that hits an unavailable day it will flag it and tell them you aren't available, so most will move on to the next sitter.

If you want dogs to walk you need to expand your service area as you won't show up in searches, but walks aren't a real popular service on the platform. You need to ask friends and family to submit testimonials as having zero reviews isn't good and personally shows a lack of effort on your part. I also searched your area for sitters and there are quite a few but what I noticed is many only have a few reviews - to me that means Rover isn't all that popular and you do live in a semi-rural area outside of Frederick, MD. Best of luck

I have the same problem... I signed up months ago, got 5 reviews up on my profile and nothing (crickets). I 1st got a hit because of the holiday season I guess. My 1st 1 canceled, then my 2nd, hasn't responded back to me since her initial inquiry which came at 12am and I responded by 4am (I sleep).
