How to improve your profile when you have read all the suggestions?

Hi!

I am new to Rover.

I have read all the suggestions on my profile, rates, etc from the resource center and it has been a week since I was approved.

I have explained my love for dogs, talked about my dogs, talked about the special treatment dogs will get with me and nothing. I have set my rates considerably low for the area and have two past reviews from previous jobs. Any suggestions? Can too low of a rate be a bad thing?

I def A week is pretty short, especially considering theyre recruiting heavily and its already pretty competitive. I dont remember exactly how long it took for me to get my first booking, at least a couple weeks.

Here's my thoughts, updated after edits made. You may want to revisit your profile. A couple sentences aren't serving you growing a dog care business ("I wasn't fond of dogs..." even though you explain that changed, how could that statement help? Now your profile pictures show you have 3 dogs. However, what you wrote indicates you have 4, with 2 not technically yours but in your constant care- the Parson Russell and a German Shepherd.) That's a whole house full of dogs! And you have a child under 5 years. As a pet owner, these things would trigger more questions than lead me to contact. It's good that you added a few more pictures of pets that you've cared for. Yes, really low rates can be bad. People can filter by how much they're willing to pay and may set minimum above your rate, thinking they would not get as good quality care from lowest price in town.

Beyond that, I'd suggest actively promoting your services. Social media, business cards, and personal face to face interaction with pet lovers when you're out helps significantly,

Your pictures definitely need an upgrade, the background picture is blurry and the raindrops on the window overtake the dog. Take and pass the Rover 101 quiz and get the badge, it is important. Having many days of the week showing unavailable for most of the services will hamper your ability to acquire clients. If I plan to take a weeks vacation and board my dog with you I cannot even send you a booking request as the calendar will not allow for it. I also second what Deb wrote about fixing your about me section and ditto about rates, you will eventually hate yourself for charging so little after you get a few bookings under your belt - pet care is a lot of work - and you will quickly find this out. Make the adjustments and I feel booking will start coming your way - best of luck
