Are clients checked out?

I mean, are they given a background check as well? Has anyone ever had a bad experience with the client? How safe is house sitting?

Thanks in advance, Ronnee

No background check. Rover just collects their name, address, phone, and credit card. In my experience, most people are just searching for a good sitter and may be equally or more nervous about trusting someone with their home and everything in it, including care of the pet. I've never had an unsafe experience meeting someone. (Bad is a totally different discussion thread). It's a good idea to exchange a lot of information before you go into the house, whether that's online (using rover messages for protection of an electronic trail), at a public place, or outside the home. Some people will ask in advance if it's okay to bring another person with them (saying they're going somewhere together after that) or checking in with someone at a designated time. You need to listen to your instincts.
