PayPal or Rover Check?

Do you receive your funds through PayPal or a Rover Check and why? Other than the time it takes to receive a check from rover is there any added benefit to using PayPal? Doesn't PayPal take a 2.9% fee.? This is my first year as a rover sitter and I have not withdrawn any money from my rover account yet as I wanted one lump sum at the end of the year. Now I am not sure which way is better. Will a few experienced rover sitters please share how and why you do what you do to receive payments?

The money transferred by Rover to you via Paypal is not subject to Paypal's usual fees. Rover pays them. So there is really no reason to opt for a check, unless you like having to wait and to pay Rover $2 to cut the check.

You can read all about it here:

https://support.rover.com/hc/en-us/ar...

As you can see, it says Payments redeemed via PayPal are released within 1-4 days, with no fees. Because I am a long-time Paypal user, my funds are deposited into my bank account one business day after I withdraw them from Rover.

Paypal doesn't charge a fee to process your earnings and transfer to your bank account. Why would a Rover sitter want checks??? We are all independent contractors and most companies provide the IC's with 1099's at the end of the year, BUT NOT ROVER unless you have checks cut and earn more than $600. So if you want a tax document checks are a better option. Do I want checks NO, I just track my eanrings for tax purposes.

You don't need a 1099 to file your taxes anyway. Unlike a W-2 you don't provide the document, just the total income earned.

I've never heard of PayPal taking a fee. I could be wrong though. I think it's pretty rare for Rover sitters to go the check route.

For other transactions, Paypal takes a fee (2.5% + $.30). However, Rover covers that, which you can assume is part of the percentage Rover takes of our earnings.
