Does any type of record found by the background check disqualify you?

Last summer I received a summary offense noise violation (which is essentially the same severity as a low-level speeding ticket) while attending a Fourth of July party. I know that it will show up on my background check but does Rover immediately disqualify anyone with any type of record or do they at least give you the opportunity to explain the circumstances for something so minor?

I'm sure you'll be fine. I believe every state has different rules regarding what can be used or considered in an employment background check. I would think your ticket is an infraction? Not even a misdemeanor?

Background checks check for felonies. Even then they can only see so much.

Background checks check for ANYTHING that is a pending date range (it’s seen as a red flag and immediate rejection of being hired) on a persons criminal history account.

Whats ridiculous is that a majority of the ppl that apply to rover are doing a BECAUSE of a situation in their life that makes it impossible to sustain enough income with no or very low funds. For Example: Like maybe they became temporarily sick or disabled and or pregnant or they lost their licences or got a DUI so can't drive so they supplement their low income disadvantage but being able to be a Rover Sitter makes perfect sense. Its honestly ridiculous. So many situations this app could huge help and its sad to see that go to waste.

I had a negligent driving charge and was also denied. It seems pretty ridiculous that they would deny someone to be a dog walker. Just because we once drove while drinking doesn't mean we drink everytime we drive!

So I was just about to apply..but it looks as though I would also grt denied. My DUI is from approximately 6-7 years ago. They will not allow us to walk dogs or dog sit because of such an offense?

Crazy because a breathalyzer refusal (what some lawyers tell you to do) is an automatic DUI on your record.

same. I literally got hired as a transportation manager but rover says no lol. this is just an income generator for them. there's no way a background check costs them $30

Exactly - there’s no actual legality terms and conditions that o read that says mds for that offensive (even if taken off record), yet rover still chooses to deny because they can?

For anyone who think it’s unfair to be excluded due to the background check (finding criminal history or driving offenses), consider that even if Rover were to accept you into the database, it’s up to the pet parent to initiate contact with you amongst hundreds if not thousands of other sitters and walkers in your area who are offering the same services. If I was looking for someone to take care of my pet, I would be looking for someone with a sparkling clean background who I did not need to worry about with access to my home and much loved pet, whose past history consistently showed the maturity to make good decisions. I have known many people who are equally serious about the hands they trust with their dog. Pet sitting and pet walking isn’t for everyone.

Screw rover. Denied me over a 3 ye old dui. Wanted me to give them my court documents and a letter from me lawyer. And receipts of restitution paid. What kind of trash is this??? All I was trying to do was make some type of cash flow for myself. And they treat people like this.

I was removed as a sitter over a child support charge. I got behind while taking care of my ill grandmother and couldn't find employment....They removed my sitting abilities for that, which has nothing to do with dog sitting...

You were earning extra income that you weren’t reporting to the state and still didn’t give your child a dime. You deserve to be kicked off. Your kid deserves to eat .

Wow-where in his comment does he say rover was "extra" income bc it looks to me rover was the "main" source of income due to the inability to find employment elsewhere. But good for you for assuming he/she is a trash parent..getting behind on child support happens. But let's stay on topic ok?
