Do you struggle to get holiday pay?

I have a potential client for Labor Day weekend. I was upfront and told her at our meet and greet that I would charge for the holiday weekend. She was ok with the rate, but mentioned she thought my rate was different based on how it was posted on Rover. I did fill out the holiday portion under my profile, but don't like this is not clear when clients are looking at rates. Anyone else struggle with holiday pay rates?

If you plan to charge extra for holidays you should have those rates in your profile so when the client creates a booking request the rates will appear.

I do have it listed, but the client has to click on additional services or rates to see holiday pay. She didn't realize she had to do that. It would be nice if that was listed upfront for clients.

I've never had a problem with holiday rates. No one has ever questioned the amount or how Rover applies it to a booking.

Because this client did not click on "Additional Services and Rates" to see your published holiday rates is not really your problem. Rover's FAQ describes holiday rates as well for all customers.

With this one in particular who thought it was something else, say that you'll look into it but are pretty sure that your rate table is accurate, unless you've told her your holiday rate is something other than $35/night for boarding.

Thank you. No, I didn't give her my rates until our meet and greet and that's when I clarified with her that it's a holiday and will be charged the holiday rate. I did tell her she had to look under additional services to see it.

Kristin, I wouldn't get too concerned. All commercial establishments are going to have holiday rates and you don't necessarily see them until you ask or look for them. Customers should know they pay more on holidays. If they don't see it, they should ask.

I recently had a repeat boarder who went to book and then asked me if my rates had changed. i explained that no, what she was seeing was my holiday rate since shes booking for labor day weekend. she tried to awkwardly pressure me into giving her a special rate? does anyone else have this issue?
