Recurring Walk?

Hey guys!

So I got a request for a booking about a week ago from a woman who wanted me to walk her dog regularly 3 times a week. We just had a meet and greet today and she asked me how I wanted to get paid, she suggested a few options and I went with check because I was sort of caught off guard (I assumed we were going to go through Rover) and it seemed like the easiest option. The woman seems trustworthy enough, so I'm not too worried about the payment although I would prefer to go through Rover. However, I came home and was trying to figure out if there was a way to set up recurring walks, to make it easier for both her and I and to be able to go through Rover. I googled and found a Rover article stating there should be a "recurring" option when you book. I've tested it out (both through editing the booking she had proposed and also trying to book a dog walker myself) and I don't see a "recurring" option anywhere???

Does anyone know what to do? The only other option seems to be booking months in advance, in which case I don't get paid till the end, or having to rebook every week or two, which is a hassle. I guess if no one knows, I'll just hope for the best with the check option. I don't know why Rover doesn't have this option or make it more accessible if they do.

UPDATE: Thanks so much for all the responses you guys! I did my first walk with the dog today and when I got home, I sent a message to the owner letting her know we should go through Rover and that I'd be able to set up a new booking each week. Thanks for the help!

I just book every week separately at the beginning of each month that way I get paid every week and if some of the weeks the owner's plans change somewhat or if they are going on vacation, they can let me know as we do the whole month's weekly bookings.

I don't know if you are aware but you MUST always go through Rover for payments or your account will be suspended or terminated. Plus if the client does not pay through Rover, the insurance policy is not valid, you cannot use the Rover app to send pics and videos and the Rover Cards. And when a client books through Rover, the fee is frozen on their credit card and charged once the service is over guaranteeing you will get paid.

You have to be paid through Rover if your client is creating a booking through Rover. Otherwise they don't get their commission and you are not protected by Rover should an incident occur. If Rover finds that you are getting paid "under the table" they may kick you off their service as well. The commission they receive covers their advertising, insurance, and things like the resources they make available to us sitters. And I believe the owner has to create a recurring booking. When they do, Rover will pay you every week. To ensure the sitter is following through with the scheduled visits, Rover requires a Rover card to be submitted for every visit. Hope this helps!

I believe recurring walks are only available in certain areas at this time. Perhaps someone that has experience with recurring walks can chime in?

I have all my daily walking clients setup with recurring bookings, but as Jennifer mentioned it is not available in all area's yet. And Janey, if it is available in your area it can only be used after the 1st booking is completed. With recurring bookings the sitter/walker is paid once per week on Tuesdays. The client's payment method is charged each week on Mondays.

AND NEVER TAKE CASH OR CHECK, you are in violation of the Rover TOS and you will NOT be covered by the Rover Insurance.

I would recommend you have the client book you weekly or bi-weekly!!!!
