If I need a business license to take care of pets in Las Vegas, NV, but only plan to do visits and not house pets at my own home, does this mean I do not have to consider zoning laws?

I'm not new to owning a business license, however I do want to make sure that I am not going to be fined for taking care of people's pets. I have seen some sitters say they cannot operate their business in their home because of the fact that they are turned into animal control by neighbors. They do not have zoning permits to house the pets and that is what I am wondering...

I do not plan to bring pets into my home or house them for a period of time, does this mean I can bypass the need to look into zoning permits and just obtain the correct license here in Nevada?

UPDATE: I did contact the business license offices here for Clark County in Nevada and when filing your business license, you can tell the zoning offices that you will not be housing the animals which should be fine. I'm not an expert, but I got tossed around & called 3 numbers so I hope this helps!

Hi Dalia:

That sounds correct, however, I'd still check with your city or county to be completely sure. Your service area may require a permit to walk dogs, for example.
