How do I cancel the house sitting date ?

I just went to my client's house for a Meet & Greet but they were not home, so I do no longer want to house sit their dog. How do I cancel that booking?

Since it hasn't been paid for yet, you don't need to cancel the request. According to what Rover told me, until it's been paid for it's not actually on the books. So if you've decided you don't want to do the stay, just archive it as 'owner did not respond.' That will put you back in the search engine as being available. The request will expire on the date listed as the start date.

If that client contacts you again, just explain that you went for the M&G and no one was home. Since that time you have received other requests and are no longer available. Be polite, but decline.

I would always give the owners the benefit of the doubt, perhaps they had an emergency and forgot about the sitter visiting. Things do come up. I always confirm before I drive over to the owners home, by phone and by emali at least a day before or that day, as early as I can.

I would then call Rover and ask for advice. I use Rover a lot and the representatives are always so helpful.

Usually, it's advised to book the service After the meet & greet. If you clicked Book it Now prior to the meet & greet, then I'd suggest contacting Rover about the no show.
