Homeowners Insurance?

I'm buying a house next month, and refuse to commit insurance fraud by not disclosing that I run a business from my home. The problem here is that my current insurance company (renters' insurance) flat out will not insure my home if I am having clients to my home, much less if I am boarding dogs.

Does anyone have an insurance company that IS willing to insure your home?

did you get an answer?

They told me to look at the forums. The insurance they offer specifically does not protect my home if a dog damages it, by having dogs to our home, we accept that liability.

This is a NON-Answer answer. But I think homeowners insurance would only cover your boarding business if you have a license for the business, and even then it would be limited. Many decades ago, I worked in the insurance industry and you could get "binders" on policies (extra fee, of course) depending on the extra coverage you want (like collectibles, expensive jewelry, etc.) so maybe dog boarding MIGHT fall into the binder category if you aren't licensed?

I was under the impression that neither state nor federal courts have a license that boarders can get. The only thing that comes close is a kennel license, but that has more to do with breeding than pet care. I'd like to know what license I should be having so I can go sign up for it!!

Renters insurance covers less than full homeowner's insurance. Right now, mine will cover any injuries but will not cover random damages caused by dogs, or anyone else who I allow to enter my home. I'm technically the one who assumed that risk when I accepted the client, so they won't cover it.

I would contact Rover. I believe the insurance through then would cover the liability for guest dogs ( like biting a neighbor kid) like home owners would for your dog. but you might have to buy the upgraded package. This is an excellent question, and I hope you post the answer if you call support!

I had no issue getting home owners.

I did contact Rover, before I posted this. They sent me to the forums, which does not have an answer anywhere that I've seen.
