Hi, I'm very new to this site. I'm also on http://care.com. On http://care.com you can go out and look for families to sit for. I can't seem to find an option for that on this site, am I missing something or can families only book through you?

No, you are not missing anything. Pet owners search for sitters/walkers. If they're interested in your services, they will contact you and probably a few more. Then they'll meet and choose a sitter that best meets their needs.
On Care.com if someone posts a job for a sitter, walker, etc. The clients gets bombarded with emails from potential providers, that is such a pain in the arse. Build a good Rover profile, get some reviews from friends, consider being one of the lower cost providers and that will drive clients to you.

We can't use the Rover platform to seek out people who need our services. But you can use Rover marketing materials to increase your requests. Frequent dog parks, groomers, vet offices, etc. and leave business cards with your Rover link.
