“Sofia was reliable and took great care of our cats while we were away. She came twice a day to give our diabetic cat his insulin and would send photos of the cats while she played with them. Would love to have Sofia feed and check in on the cats again when we go away. Thanks Sofia!”

About: My name is Rod, I am retired and ready to give your cat or dog the special attention and loving care every pet deserves. I currently own a 11 year old Husky and previously a 16 year old husky cross, I have also been an owner of several cats and always have been an advocate for the well being of both, growing up and present. I am a proud grampa of my daughters rescue mix breed dog and I understand the challenges and needs of dogs and cats that haven't have had a great start in life, I take pride in showing them that they have friends in humans from this point on in life. I know the importance of proper feeding, water, playtime, walks and the special snuggles and pats. I am experienced in administering medication if needed and transporting pets to scheduled appointments , play dates of course scooping #2 on walks or at home.
“Julia has done well with my anxious and apparent-very vocal pup! I am very pleased with his behaviour afterwards (he’s currently napping, and is very mellowed out!) Julia has been great for communicating through the day, and we look forward to having her visit in the house in the future bookings! thank you again Julia!”

“This is the second time Charmaine watched my cat and she’s fantastic. He’s an older cat and needs pills twice a day at specific times, and she’s always on time, and very communicative with great updates. I feel very comfortable leaving my cat in her care and definitely recommend!”

About: I have had pets my whole life! As well have taken care of pets for family and friends, I am able to administer insulin to cats as my brothers is diabetic and I have been providing this care when he needs it! I have also dealt with my fair share of super nervous pets, who take a little bit of time to trust but always end up the sweetest. I am a full time worker, with 2 set days off that I am able to use to care for pets. I am also able to attend to pets after I finish work. Pets, belly rubs, ear and chin scritches. Taking them for walks, or just playing with them. Lots of pet cuddles as some require lots of affection
About: Hi everyone, my name is Chelsea and I would love to take care of your pet. I had a dog until recently when she passed away. I love dogs and would love to have a dog to take care of and take for walks. I also own two cats who love other animals. I am happy to assist you in any way possible. I was off all summer but now I’m back to work as a teacher! I work Monday to Friday but I have weekends available. I also can come home during lunch breaks throughout the week! Unfortunately I don’t have a fenced yard but I live right next to a walking path. This path is great and has lots of grass.
About: Hi, name is Michelle! I have a passion for animals of all types! I was in the pet industry for over 4 years caring for many different types of reptiles, all small animals, birds, fish, cats, dogs, you name it! I love every critter out there and treat each one likes it’s my own. If you need someone to look after your pet, take it for a walk or even just check in while you’re away or at work I’m your girl! I also have a lot of experience with administering medication and watching pets with special care. I’m reliable for you and patient with your pets. Im excited to cuddle them, love them and take care of them for you. A house is not a home without a pet🤍 I work in real estate with my husband so my schedule is very flexible and I do most of my job from my computer so I have ample time to spend with your furry friends. Although I had to technically select that I live in an apartment I actually live on the main level of a warehouse condo with private access, a yard and a garage!
About: I grew up around animals my whole life which includes dogs and cats, but also lizards, fish and horses. I currently live with 2 cats (one of whom will shower love on any being who comes into our home and the other will ensure to watch you from her favourite spot under the blankets). We would love to have weekend visitors as I work during the week. I work Monday to Friday which leaves me to focus on animals on weekends. If a pet were to stay during the week, morning/after work and maybe during lunch are when I'd be available for pet care. Due to high demand for medication administration, there will an extra $5 for day 1-4 and 5+ days will be an extra $10. I have a fully fenced back yard and I do a lot of yard work and play outside with animals as the back yard is a good size! My home is pet friendly with furniture being fair game. As I have pets who like get into everything, the house is pet proof. I also have a baby gate (I'm also an auntie who has kids come and visit) which can help keep pets apart if needed. I also live right across the street from a park for nice walks!
“Taisja was outstanding - if we could give her 10 stars we would!! She went above and beyond and actually took the time to get to know our cats and they warmed up to her in no time. I can recommend her without any hesitation at all!!”

“We left our kitty at home for a week with Ali doing 2 visits a day. It was scary for us because we had never left our kitty for more than just a weekend. Ali kept us up to date on how kitty was doing which gave us peace of mind on our vacation. When we got home kitty was in great shape and clearly well loved. You’d hardly know we had been gone for so long! Thank you again Ali!!!”

About: I've owned and taken care of cats anddogs for over 30 years. We've had dogs both big and small and each one has given us a lifetime of love! I am comfortable and able to provide medical injections to your fur baby. I currently work full time during the day but am available evenings and weekends. We have a fairly flexible schedule and can work around your pets needs. I will come to your fur baby to care for them. I have a valid driver's liscence. References available on request. Please reach out with any questions.
About: My family has always had dogs around, and growing up, I naturally took on a lot of the care over the years. This was not out of obligation, but because of the bonds I'd built with them. That foundation grew into a love for all animals, and hands-on experience looking after dogs and cats for friends and family; whether for a weekend or an extended vacation. I've also brought my dogs along on hikes and camping trips, so I'm quite comfortable caring for pets in a variety of environments, not just at home :) Your pets' care is my priority! I will deliberately keep my day(s) clear so the pet gets consistent attention, proper walks, and company throughout the day rather than being left alone for long stretches. I take the safety and comfort of every pet seriously. I am currently unable to provide care in my own home; however, I am more than willing to stay overnight at your home if requested. Before any booking, I'm happy to arrange a meet-and-greet in a neutral public space so you and your pet can get comfortable with me beforehand! During care, I will also keep my location services on so you can check in on walks at any time. Additionally, I will send pictures and/or videos throughout my stay so you are always kept up to date! I won't take dogs to dog parks or allow unplanned interactions with other animals unless you've specifically asked for that. I also make it a habit to walk through the space and clear any potential hazards, such as cleaning supplies, loose cords, anything within reach that shouldn't be. I fully understand leaving your pet in the hands of a stranger can be stressful, which is why I try my best to alleviate as much of that as possible so you, and your pet, can enjoy your time away.
About: I have 2 puppies back home, and have an absolute love for dogs, as well as cats. I live with 2 dogs as well as my own kitty named Ollie. I have had animals my whole entire life! I’m currently working part time so i have lots of time to care, and play with your animals. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
