OMGGGGG! I’m new to having pets. My daughter had an OFSAA tournament in Sarnia. We know no one in Sarnia. It was my first time using Rover. Angie responded quickly. Her rate and reviews are GREAT! She kept our minds at ease by sending pics, videos, notes throughout the day. She made the cutest posts. It was our first time away from Toby. There was a lot of anxiety but Angie put us at ease. She has a park next to her home to walk Toby. Not only is Angie great…but so is her family! So welcoming and friendly and kind. I know where to go if I’m back in Sarnia. Angie is 100% dependable kind and patient and just loves animals! 100% recommend Angie!

About: As a senior pet sitter with over 14 years of experience caring for dogs, I offer patience, kindness, and dependable care. I understand that every dog is unique and deserves love, attention, and a safe, comfortable environment. I care for each pet as if they were my own, giving you peace of mind while you're away. As a retired pet sitter, I have plenty of time to provide attentive, loving care throughout the day. I welcome boarding any day of the week and can easily follow your pet's usual routine. My typical schedule includes morning walks between 7:00–9:00 a.m., playtime and companionship during the day, afternoon potty breaks, an evening walk around 5:00–7:00 p.m., dinner, and lots of affection to help your pet feel relaxed and at home. Your dog will be welcomed into a safe, loving home where they will receive plenty of attention and companionship. I have a small, fully fenced yard for supervised outdoor time, along with regular walks and play throughout the day. My two grandchildren visit from time to time, and they occasionally bring their friendly Shih Tzu. If your dog enjoys being around children and other small dogs, they'll have opportunities to socialize in a relaxed environment. I always provide a calm, clean, and caring home and will follow your pet's feeding schedule, exercise routine, and any special instructions to help them feel happy and comfortable.

Melissa took wonderful care of our fur babies! It was a short stay but Chocolate Chip and Remy had so much fun with her dog Willow and the other border, Chase. Little Remy really bonded with Melissa and ended up sleeping with her. He’s a picky eater and Melissa was so kind to hand feed him! Would definitely board our pups with her again.

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my whole life and have always had a special love for them. I have experience caring for dogs of all ages and personalities — from playful puppies full of energy to senior dogs who need extra patience and calm. I’m known for being responsible, attentive, and caring. I always follow each family’s routines, provide enjoyable walks, and make sure every pet feels safe and happy, just like at home. My priority is to create an environment of trust, love, and well-being. I strive to make every dog enjoy their time with me and keep open communication with owners, so they can feel confident knowing their furry friend is in good hands. Pet care is a natural part of my daily life. I have a flexible work schedule that allows me to adapt easily to each pet’s needs, giving them quality time, walks, play, and personalized attention. I truly enjoy spending time with animals—they bring me peace and happiness. I always strive to create a calm and loving environment where every pet feels comfortable, safe, and happy while in my care. The safety and comfort of every pet are always my top priorities. Whether I’m caring for them in my home or at the owner’s home, I make sure they are in a calm, clean, and secure environment. I take time to understand each pet’s routine and personality to help them feel comfortable and keep their day as normal as possible. I’m careful with doors, leashes, and feeding schedules, and I always supervise outdoor time to ensure their well being. My goal is to create a peaceful and loving atmosphere where every pet feels cared for, respected, and happy while their owners are away.

About: Hey, I’m Jeremy! An animal lover, outdoor enthusiast, and long-time pet caregiver. I’ve been walking dogs since I was 12 and have experience with both cats and dogs since before I can remember. I currently have a cat who I’ve cared for over the past three years, and before moving out on my own, I helped take care of our family’s pets, including three wonderful dogs over the years. I was involved in all parts of their care: daily walks, playtime, feeding, and of course, the less glamorous tasks like picking up after them. I'm patient, dependable, and always aim to make animals feel safe and loved. When I’m not spending time with animals, I work full-time in administration and graphic design at a funeral home. I’m also an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces, working with the Cadet Program. I work with youth aged 12 to 18 at the Sarnia Army Cadets, helping them build confidence, leadership, teamwork, and outdoor survival skills in a structured, military environment. I offer dog walking, play dates, house and pet sitting, and pet sitting in my own home. I love getting to know each pet’s unique personality and making sure they feel happy, relaxed, and cared for. I’m also a photographer — so don’t be surprised if you get a few great shots of your furry friend during our time together! Whether it’s keeping your dog active or making sure your cat feels at home, I treat every pet like family. I can't wait to meet my new fur friend! I work full-time on a 3-week rotating schedule, but I always know my availability in advance. My weekends rotate like this: one weekend I work, the next is a long weekend (Friday to Monday off), and the third is a regular Saturday–Sunday off. I usually have one weekday off as well, which I can use for walks or pet visits. Most days, I’m also able to pop by during my lunch break—usually between 1:30 and 2:30—for a quick walk, play session, or check-in. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a fully fenced backyard for safe outdoor time and plenty of space inside for pets to relax. I do have a cat, but she keeps to herself and tends to avoid other animals, so there’s very little interaction unless your pet is especially curious. I keep my home clean, pet-friendly, and free of any hazards. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or visiting yours, I always follow feeding routines, leash rules, and any specific instructions you leave. You’ll also get regular updates so you can feel at ease knowing your pet is in good hands.

Brandon was FANTASTIC with Sadie and Trixie. They were so excited to see us when we picked them up, but in a way we could tell they were super well cared for. They kept running back to Brandon to make sure he was good and telling him goodbye in their own way. We can tell they developed a great bond and consider him family. They were exhausted and slept the whole way home. This tells us they got tons of good playtime in. Communication was great. We will absolutely have Brandon watch our fur kiddos next time we need to go out of town.

About: I’ve been around and have always loved all animals. I have experience with dogs, cats, hamsters, ferrets, and fish. Open to helping with any pets. I work full time Monday-Thursday but I’m completely open to care for your pets Friday-Sunday. I like being active and getting outside so your pets will get all the walks and activity. At home my cats and dogs are free to roam the home. The yard is not fenced so we do use a cable in the backyard or go for walks on the leash for potty breaks.

Jeremy was absolutely wonderful with our Frenchie, Tucker! From the moment we booked, communication was easy and reliable. Jeremy kept us updated with photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Tucker can be a little stubborn and has his own quirky personality, but Jeremy was patient, caring, and clearly experienced with dogs. We came home to a happy, relaxed pup who had clearly been well loved and well cared for. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Jeremy again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive sitter!

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Sarnia home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favourite hang-out spots in your Sarnia

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
