About: I love all animals but dogs have a special place in my heart. I will treat your dog as if it were my own fur baby. I have owned several different dogs over the years. I've also fostered and helped re-home dogs in need. Every dog in my care gets kisses and cuddles and plenty of scritches, toy tosses and walks. I work from home and am self-employed. I naturally take several walks per day. I love dogs and they love me. I'm comfortable with training and discipline and keeping your dog feeling safe and secure while staying with me. Being on furniture and in my bed depends on the size and type of your dog. Doggy will definitely be in my room at night. Please bring your own food, toys, leashes, dishes and a crate if required. I will supply the bed. I have a fenced yard but the dog will not be left unsupervised in the yard. I'm a firm believer in getting out for walks and giving dogs the attention they need. Routine is set up right away and if your dog has a few quirks I'm happy to accomodate. I will only care for 2 dogs at the same time if they are from the same home. Otherwise, just one dog at a time.

My journey started with a German Shepherd, and I also cared for two beloved rabbits for eight wonderful years. Our day starts early with a peaceful routine. After I’ve tended to my cats and the chicken coop, the dogs head out into our two-acre yard. When I care for pets, the most important factors to me are the pet’s safety and the owner’s boundaries. I find it very important that the pet is visibly content and safe, and if any issues were to occur, I understand the boundaries as a sitter. I care for and respect all pets the way I would hope a sitter would treat and respect my pet and routines.

“Our rather large and loveable German Shepherd is an integral part of our family and finding the perfect home away from home for her when we travel is extremely important. Our dog receives a tremendous amount of attention and affection at home and we knew after our first meeting with Rachel and her family that they would offer that same level of care whilst hosting Monty. We feel truly fortunate to have found such a great family to care for our dog when we can't and look forward to having her stay with them again in the future. We received daily updates and many photos of her receiving a lot of affection which was very comforting to see. Monty's diet requires some daily cooking, which Rachel was more than happy to accommodate. They also accommodated her for an extra night when our travel plans changed. I don't usually write reviews, though in this case, we were just so pleased with the level of care and attention that our dog received and our overall pleasant experience with Rachel, Michael and their children, that special recognition was deserved!
