My job working in the veterinary hospital is a blessing to be surrounded by animals every second of every day. I am looking to fit some walking into my lunch breaks or night walks in the Ottawa/Gatineau areas. I'm free all day from Friday-Sunday for Pet sitting or dog walks any time of the day. À propos : I grew up with dogs and have always considered them family. Our first dog, Sasha, was adopted four months before I was born and had significant behavioural needs. She was my best friend for thirteen wonderful years, and caring for her taught me patience, attentiveness, and how important it is to meet each dog where they are. Since then, my family has had two more dogs, and I’ve gained experience caring for seniors, managing specialized diets, preparing food, and handling unexpected veterinary concerns. Our current dog, Zyler, has canine megaesophagus and requires specialized food preparation and feeding techniques. He’s a lot of work, but he’s also the absolute love of my life! I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions and taking the time to make sure each dog feels safe, comfortable, and cared for. I am a full time student. I have 3-5 hours of non-negotiable commitments during the week, but I am a homebody and I can be around constantly outside of synchronous in-person classes. I am free Tuesdays. Saturday’s and Sunday’s without restrictions I care for pets by taking my cues from your animal. Having been a foster volunteer, I am aware of signals and cues and how to respect an animal’s boundaries while caring for their needs. I am the cleanest, most respectful house guest and will leave the place immaculate. I will respect homeowners predefined boundaries while providing as much play and cuddles possible.

“Julia saved the day! We left our dog with another caretaker who decided a couple days in that it was not a good fit. He messaged me while I was away in Florida, unable to pick up the dog. At 8pm I was able to find Julia, and not only did she agree to take our dog, but her partner went and picked her up for us. I could have cried. Our dog the went on to have an INCREDIBLE week with Julia and her other dogs. She came back better socialized and more confident. I actually felt sad bringing her home because she seemed to have the best week. Julia said a heartfelt goodbye to our girl and it really seemed that she has such a genuine love for dogs. She will be our permanent dog sitter moving forward and we are so grateful for how she swooped in and saved the day and allowed us to enjoy our trip without worrying.”

Dottie tends to be wary of strangers—especially men—but she warmed up to Selina almost instantly and even befriended Pascal and Jesse without hesitation (which is almost unheard of for her). I received daily updates along with pics and vids that put me totally at ease! This is a family of true dog lovers (with some serious dog-whisperer energy).
