“We cannot say enough amazing things about Shanda. She took in our two rescue pups, Sam and Wiley, on very short notice that allowed a family vacation to Disneyland to still happen. She was clear in her communications and patiently listened to my wife and I as we walked through the care and routine Sam and Wiley required. Shandra exceeded all of our expectations thanks to her kindness, her warm heart and her love of dogs. She would send us videos of our pups playing with her dog, Houston, in the backyard, and plenty of photos of Sam and Wiley sound asleep in the living room. These videos and photos put our minds at ease during our trip as we knew our boys were in the best of hands. Shanda went above and beyond in taking care of Sam and Wiley. She sewed them bandanas, which look fantastic on them, and disassembled them kennels before we picked them which was so kind of her to do as we went straight from the airport to pick them up. Shandra creates an environment where dogs feel comfortable being themselves and feel comfortable in the new surroundings. We can’t recommend Shanda enough and will definitely ask her again to care for our Sam and Wiley 🧡”

“Gillian took great care of my little rescue pup. She’s clearly an animal lover and treats them all as her own. Gillian was also very responsive to messages even though I had limited access to cell service and wifi while I was away. I would highly recommend her as a caretaker for your furkids.”

About: With over 20 years of hands-on experience as a pet owner and more than a decade as a professional pet sitter and dog walker, I bring both personal passion and proven expertise to every furry friend in my care. Since 2010, I've dedicated myself to providing reliable, compassionate care for dogs and cats while their owners are away or at work. My journey with dogs began in 2003 and with cats in 2009, giving me deep insight into the unique personalities, needs, and behaviors of both species. This extensive experience has taught me how to read animal body language, recognize signs of stress or discomfort, and adapt my approach to each pet's individual temperament—whether they're energetic and playful or shy and reserved. I understand that leaving your beloved pet in someone else's care requires trust, and I don't take that responsibility lightly. Whether it's maintaining daily routines, administering medications, providing engaging exercise and playtime, or simply offering comfort and companionship, I treat every pet as if they were my own. Your pet's safety, happiness, and well-being are always my top priorities, and I'm committed to giving you complete peace of mind while you're away. I am currently unemployed, so I have full availability to care for your pets anytime you need! Same day bookings are accepted for all services. When caring for your pets, I do ask for any special instructions for their care and a description of the pet's personality. This helps me keep your pet comfortable and cared for in the same way they're used to.

About: I currently have 2 cats of my own, but have always had a cat in my life. I am able to assist in a wide variety of tasks including regular or deep cleaning of litter boxes (both regular litter and pellets). I am also able to administer medications if the cat requires any. I truly love all animals and will treat and love yours as my own!
“Jamie was reliable, quick to reply, and did a great job of looking after our kitty. We got a nice update with both visits. I would definitely recommend Jamie for all your cat sitting needa!”

About: I have owned dogs since I was young and love them like crazy! Currently I don’t have any due to living in a small apartment. Not available for boarding or overnight care. Thanks in advance if you have chosen me with your fur babies. Currently working full time, available on evenings and weekends. If looking for check in’s, I can do morning and evening during the week, and several hours over the weekend. At this time I am unable to care for pets in my own home as I live in an apartment. However in your home I can do visits in the morning and evening during the week, and spend several hours with them on weekends.
“Amanda gave us such peace of mind while we were away from our Heidi kid. She is super professional and friendly. Our Heidi is a rescue and has a lot of anxiety with new people, but Amanda was patient and let Heidi decide when she would approach her. Will definitely use Amanda’s excellent and invaluable services again :)”

About: Hi there! I would love to take care of your cat(s) 🐈❤️ I had my first cat when I was a little girl and have had quite a few since. Currently have one almost 8 month old boy. He's very friendly and sociable. I can help trim nails, feed, play with, walk (if your cat walks on a harness!) and pet/snuggle them. I am generally working from home all day so I have plenty of time for your baby!!!

About: I grew up with cats and am very comfortable caring for them, including those who may have a bit of personality! As a medical professional, I am also comfortable administer medications and completing any special care required. I would love to meet your cat!
“We were very concerned about leaving our older cat as he is very shy and he has a thyroid condition. However, Camryn was able to lure him out of hiding and made sure he got his food and meds. Our young cat seemed pretty happy to sit with her for pets and snuggles so that was wonderful too. All in all, we are very pleased with Camryn and would not hesitate to employ her again, or recommend her to others. Rover is a great service as the pet care people check in and out so you know that your pets are being cared for, and the daily photos are welcome.”

About: I have been around cats and dogs my whole life and I love them to bits! I’ve fostered both cats and dogs and walk my neighbours dogs quite often. I am very patient and enjoy working with dogs while they are still learning new skills. There is no greater bond than that of a dog and it’s owner. I like taking dogs on runs and long walks and love to get down and play with them. I have experience working with neglected and somewhat aggressive dogs who are still learning how to trust people. I have looked after a disabled dog and ensured that she got enough exercise and play while taking into consideration her disabilities so she wasn’t injuring herself further. I want to bring as much joy to their lives as they do to mine. I want to make sure your furry friend has as much fun as they can while they wait for you to come home! I am currently in my 4th year of nursing school but most of my class are online so I am very available to cater to your pets specific needs! I will not be taking dogs into my home but I can come to you. I let them out every few hours and give lots of attention!

“Leah is great! It’s so reassuring to know that Scout is well taken care of and exercised during the day. Leah is extremely communicative, reliable, and gives thorough updates. Would highly recommend to anyone needing dog care 🩷”

About: A bit about me: I love dogs! Their pure and genuine happiness and excitement makes them a highlight of my day every time I see one. I enjoy meeting dogs and getting to know their individual personalities, likes, and dislikes. MY EXPERIENCE I’ve been walking my 40lb family dog for the eleven years that we’ve had her, and I walked our previous 24lb dog for years before her. Both are nervous, reactive dogs, so I have a lot of experience in handling pooches that struggle to maintain their focus and composure while on a walk (ie. that bark a lot and lunge when they see another doggo across the street). While I am comfortable with uncomfortable dogs, I will do my best to prevent stressful situations from happening by using high value treats, crossing the street to avoid conflict, or altering my route altogether. MY WALKS I will take your dog for whatever kind of walk they need: a stroll through the park, pausing to sniff wherever they’d like; a leisurely walk through the neighbourhood; or a brisk march to get as far as possible in our walk time. I do not take dogs for runs at this time. I look forward to meeting your dog! I work full time from home, with some flexibility for daytime walks. That means my weekday evenings and weekends are wide open to give your pet lots of attention and fun on a walk! Pets all have their own personalities, comfort levels, and needs. I let them tell me what they need and want, so my visits and walks will look different for every pet. Relaxing together may be cuddles on the couch with one dog (or cat! 🤍) and spending time on opposite ends of the room with another. Dogs and cats have feelings and boundaries too, and the best way of building trust is to respect those boundaries. As much as I’d love to give every pupper a big hug, that’s not what they all want, so the ways I show love will vary. Mealtimes, pee breaks, enrichment, walks, and bedtimes will be done as instructed by you, and with attentive care to your pet. As for safety in the environment, obviously if there is something that needs a quick response for the safety of your pet, then that will be prioritized right away! Medications may also necessitate crossing some boundaries, but doing so with care to make it as stress free as possible.
“Cara was a hero helping out with dog walks this week while we dealt with sick kids and contractors. One of our dogs can be a bit unfriendly around new people but took to Cara right away and was so excited the second time she came by. She is amazing and I would definitely recommend to another family that needs a third set of hands during a busy period!”

About: Compassionate animal lover, with experience with navigating behavioral challenges while walking dogs. Have been a life-long pet owner for cats and dogs. I currently have a cat who I love dearly and play with daily. I'm currently working part-time in the mornings 5 days a week. I have the majority of the afternoons Monday to Sunday starting at 1pm to help with your pet-care needs. I am trustworthy to care for your pets in your home and can take them for walks in the community around your home. I hope this will create a comfortable environment for your pets by walking/caring for them in a familiar environment.
“Shanda was great for taking our high-energy Thrasher for a walk, she provide a tip on his harness too which is great to know! Thrasher seemed to enjoy so we looking forward to the next.”

About: Hello fur mums and dads! I’m a super fun, protective and fiercely loyal friend and rescue dog mom of two beautiful boys and two spoiled princesses. It doesn’t matter if your fur babies have attitude, are high maintenance, loves to chill and be lazy - I have seen it all (and I love it)! I have been doing this for over 3 years now and I know and follow all Rover guidelines, I am hyper-aware of your homes security and will go the extra mile to leave your home the same or better than I came to find it! That’s MY guarantee. As per my client reviews, I really do care about pets (and their people) and I like to build that rapport with you and your family. I have experience working with dogs who have special needs such as tri-pawds (dogs without a limb), mesoesophogas, diabetics, dogs who are post-operation, and those with diet and medication requirements. I love seniors and puppies alike, and I believe in positive reinforcement and consistency. I will make sure to follow whatever you/your families bathroom/walking/feeding schedule, as to not throw your pet for a loop. Pets can be very adverse to change, especially when their humans are away, so I’d truly love to have the chance to be your go-to gal for care! If you need someone to just drop in and take your babe to get their “zoomies” out, or someone to sit and distract your anxiety riddled dog - I love to do it all. I know life gets in the way of being the “perfect dog parent” - sometimes you’re stuck with overtime, maybe shift work; or there’s family emergencies and family engagements - maybe even a long weekend out of town - whatever the case may be, please don’t hesitate to give me a shout. Day or night, anytime! I have a clean criminal record, a reliable vehicle, valid (and clean) driving record to transport your animals (if needed) AND I am Dogsafe Canine First Aid Certified. I’m also an approved foster parent for the North Cariboo District BCSPCA and the PG Humane Society. Please know your sweethearts will be in very competent, caring hands during your time of need! Pet care is my “full-time” job. I put all of my energy into each of my stays. I worked for Federal Corrections for nearly a decade so providing supervision and community service is in my blood, so to speak. Animals are healing for me and they provide me with joy and unique learning experiences. I take away something from each pet, each stay and each family. Many people notice that I have my own (very big) fur babies and ask if I bring them along, or what I do with them while I’m watching your pets? Well, I’m blessed to have a wonderful, supportive partner who really is a 10/10 dog daddy and takes the best care of them so I’m allowed time away to take the best care of YOURS! I care for your pets, just as YOU would. I will follow your routine, feeding schedule, sleep schedule, training regimen, etc. as to not cause them an extraneous undue stress or anxiety. This is why meet and greets are so important to me and vital to continuity of care. For dogs staying in my home: I have a beautifully fenced and secure backyard. I have two trained neutered male dogs who are playful, balanced and welcoming. They love to have company and meet new friends. But if your doggo requires a more quiet environment - I have a separate comfortable space with safe and secure crates (both extra large and extra small) at the ready. So you don’t have to worry about lugging out your own! I am proud to say I have gone all out creating a plush, cozy, quiet environment, just for your pet! Complete with dog-friendly TV shows and/or music, ambient lighting, dog-safe aromatherapy and all natural treats and chewies for them to enjoy and gnaw on, if needed.
