“Susan was great with my fur baby. I was in and out of service a good portion of the weekend, but every now and then I would get updates on how my Pooch was doing with photos. In addition, she had the service of pickup and drop off, which was extremely helpful for me as I was tied up helping with the wedding. Previously, my only option had been taking Sitka to a boarding kennel. Every time it would be about a week of her coming down from all the stress and anxiety of being around all the barking misbehaved dogs. Typically would come back with some kind of stomach indigestion. The important thing, is that she needs medication twice a day, and with the boarding kennel I really wondered how consistent the medication administration was. I can see why Susan has five star reviews. I wouldn't hesitate to contact her again. Thank you again for taking care of my fur baby. -Ty”

About: I’ve loved caring for animals for as long as I can remember and I will always be there for your furry friends when they need me. My pet care experience ranges from timid elderly cats, to high energy dog breeds that pack a little extra punch, as well as senior friends who need a little extra attention. I run marathons so I am always looking for a running buddy to let off steam with but I’m always ok to take it slow too. As a university student, my schedule is quite flexible and I’m available from early mornings to late nights most days of the week for walking, pee breaks, and house sitting. I always try to respect your pet’s space and routine by letting them guide interactions, especially as we get used to each other. As someone who’s cared for many senior animals, I have become a pro at disguising medication as treats, and am more than happy to make any accommodations they need. Small dog to big, I am comfortable with any size dog on the leash and am not afraid to stand my ground to keep everyone safe and happy :).

About: I’m a past pet owner. I've recently looked after my sisters two small dogs for long weekends or a week at a time in BC while they were away. I’ve even looked after a relatives house, 2 Great Danes, 1 med sized dog and a few cats for a couple weeks when I was a kid with my elderly grandmother. Big responsibility! I’ve also looked after a neighbours cat for a couple weeks twice a day for feeds, daily cat litter cleaning, and music turned on and off with cuddle time. I’m bondable! I’ve volunteered and work for police forces over the years so no record etc. I believe animals have souls and need love and to be cared for. I’m willing to go to your home and water, feed and take your fur baby out for bathroom breaks and a cuddle. This will take a load off your mind as well as physically for your fur babies. I may not have years of getting paid and labelled as “professional” but I’m experienced when loving animals and using common sense to look after them and your home. Any questions, just ask. Cheers. “Alexia and her mom Shelley were absolutely amazing! My partner and I were visiting the island and wanted to do a whale watching trip. We knew we didn’t want to leave our dogs in the RV and decided to try to find someone to watch them. We thought it would be a long shot with such short notice and it being on a Sunday but began calling around. After reaching out to quite a few daycares in Nanaimo and Parksville and being told they were full I decided to try using Rover for the first time. I was super nervous but found Alexia and read the reviews and decided to message her. Alexia responded almost immediately and agreed to take both of our dogs for the following day. I asked Alexia a million questions and was worried about the heat wave and she answered everything with no issues and made me feel confident that the dogs would be in good hands. We dropped the dogs off the next day and were greeted by Shelley who was very kind. Shelley showed us where the dogs would be staying and we shared a few details with her as both our dogs had minor ailments at the time. After we left and were on the tour we received many pictures of our dogs from Alexia that were absolutely stunning and she provided us updates on their well being. We enjoyed our tour and weren’t worried at all. When we picked the dogs up you could tell they had a great time and despite the heat they didn’t seem too hot at all. Shelley even let us know that our one dog might have a bladder infection which helped confirm our suspicions we had as well. If we ever return to the island we would definitely reach out to Alexia again if we needed to have our dogs looked after.”

About: Being the owner of a current senior dog (have had him since he was a puppy), I understand the needs of a dog (or cat) of all ages. I am very attentive, and have a knack of picking up on an animals needs. Also being a past cat owner (passed of old age), I am also skilled with felines.
