Doggy water bowls are available inside and out, with doggy snacks provided so dogs can eat inside with owners. Outside there’s a shaded conifer area which is a favourite with the pub dogs, a tap and hose pipe for cleaning muddy paws, as well as a dog-friendly conservatory where muddy boots can be left. Dogs are allowed to make friends off-lead if they’re well behaved, which the regular four-legged visitors are. There are two labradors living at The Hyde Park Inn, who often pop out to make sure all is well and that the canine clientele are enjoying themselves. For humans there’s a large selection of guests ales, lagers, bitters, fine wines and soft drinks—basically something for everyone. Dogs are allowed inside with owners or outside where there’s a beer garden filled with tables, plus trees and umbrellas to offer shade on sunny days. You’ll even find an H20 doggy bar with plenty of fresh water for thirsty dogs, plus doggy treats and water bowls. The menu features a huge selection of sandwiches, hot dogs, and pub classics like homemade pie, and fish and chips.

The Cock Inn is a dog-friendly pub so popular locals recognise the dogs there as much as the humans. Thanks to dogs playing such a big part in the Oughtibridge community, there’s always a furry friend or two for your dog to meet in the bar. Despite the Dog & Partridge’s central location, this is a dog-friendly haunt is worth travelling from your local park or woods for. On entry, dogs are offered a water bowl and doggy snack. Meanwhile, humans can enjoy some of Dog & Partridge’s renowned tapas. Lounge around and enjoy meeting some of the pub’s fellow furry patrons while your meal is cooked from scratch. The hard flooring ensures muddy paws and shoes aren’t a problem and there’s a quieter snug for dogs and their owners to relax in. There isn’t a garden area, but for a quick outdoor visit there are a few seats out front.

New Barrack Tavern is keen to make dogs and their owners feel welcome. Dogs are allowed pretty much anywhere inside, but are expected to be kept on a lead, which is not a bad thing, considering how close the pub is to a busy main road. Due to its prime location not far from the heart of Sheffield city centre, the pub can get busy during football matches, so it may be best avoided in peak times. Dogs can quench their thirst with water bowls, while you try one of the 12 hand-pulled real ales or a traditional cider.
