How to Make Peanut Butter Shortbread Biscuits for Dogs [Recipe]

Bonding with Your Dog

The delicate, crumbly texture of this decadent shortbread is a decided departure from the same-old-same-old of stale and crunchy store-bought treats. We’ve replaced all the butter and sugar with dog-friendly peanut butter. You can cut these out into simple shapes, or simply press into a baking tray to be cut into pieces later.

Peanut Butter Shortbread Cookies for Dogs

  • Author: Kiki Kane
Scale

Ingredients

  • 2 cups natural peanut butter (check ingredients for xylitol, a dangerous ingredient)
  • 1/2 cup milk (coconut or soy milk is fine for dogs with a dairy issue)
  • 2 cups AP flour (you can substitute part for oat flour or whole wheat flour)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Line two baking trays with parchment paper

Cream the peanut butter for a few minutes until fluffy and lightens in color and texture

Add the milk and stir to combine

Gradually add the flour in until mixed

Turn out onto a floured surface to roll out

Roll out half the dough and cut out using a simple shaped cookie cutter as the dough may be a little too  crumbly for a fancy shape.

Bake for 20 minutes or until just starting to turn golden around on the bottom and the edges

Leave to cool completely on the baking sheets.

Enjoy!
