Racism has no place in the Rover community.
Like so many around the world, we at Rover have mourned the tragic deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and countless others. The lives of Black people matter, they have always mattered, and they will always matter.
Racism has no place in the Rover community. We stand with the Black community in support of justice and fairness. It is unacceptable not to draw a clear line in the sand with regards to racism and white supremacy. Racism and other forms of discrimination require permanent efforts to combat.
But a message of solidarity is only a starting point. We’re actively listening and learning, and we know we still have work to do. This acknowledgment is a step in that direction, but this needs to be an ongoing conversation, a constant effort.
Devotion to our community is at the heart of what we do at Rover. We are grateful to be a part of a vibrant community of pet parents, sitters, and dog and cat people—a community built on love. We don’t have all the answers. But as you take your next step forward, know that we’re at your side. We’re committed—collectively and as individuals—to doing this work alongside our community, and to building a more equitable future.
