Australia’s ‘Bachelor of the Year’ is on a Quest to Save Every Dog

In Australia, one man’s goal in life is to save every rescue dog, and we believe he can do it.

Ryan Anderson is a full-time animal welfare inspector for the RSPCA. And when he’s not saving animals in his 9-to-5 capacity, he is fostering dogs and volunteering with rescues to give every dog a second chance.

Oh, and he happens to be Australia’s most eligible bachelor, to boot.

Cosmo’s bachelor of the year

“I started out just volunteering on weekends with various rescue groups, attending events, fostering dogs, transporting animals and donating, and now I also promote rescue dog events, fundraisers, adoptable animals through my social media as well as educational posts for promoting responsible dog ownership,” Anderson told The Dodo.

As for pets, Ryan has a Rottie named Goose and a cat named Krumm. While he’d love to add to his pack, he keeps his home open to foster dogs instead.

“My favourite part would definitely be the moment one of your foster dogs finds his forever home. It’s sad to say goodbye, but it opens up a new spot for another foster to join the family.”

What’s in Ryan’s future? He hopes to create his own rescue organization someday to help harder to re-home dogs and provide treatment for behaviour challenges.
