We were delighted with the care our dogs received while with Kirah and Mitch. They kept them for several days and each day, we received pics and info about how the girls were doing. It seems as though our dogs were simply integrated into their normal, family life. One of our dogs was sitting by Kirah’s visiting grandma in a picture and was also being wrapped into blankets on their couch. Another dog was Kirah’s shadow and Kirah didn’t seem to mind in the slightest. It’s always hard to leave your dogs with someone new, but thankfully, it all worked out beautifully. We’ll definitely leave our girls in their care again when needed.

They are great people, took care of my golden well

This was one of the most stressful experiences I’ve ever had with a sitter. My dog Hachi was injured under their care and required almost $700 in urgent vet treatment. The sitter admitted it may have happened with the crate, which shows the conditions were unsafe. On top of that, I wasn’t told until almost midnight, even though the vet said the injury likely happened earlier. I also had to keep asking for pictures because they weren’t sending updates, which makes me think they noticed the injury earlier and didn’t want me to see it. This was clear negligence, not just an accident. I had to cut my trip short, call my family in the middle of the night to get Hachi, and deal with the stress of knowing he wasn’t safe. I’ve already submitted all proof to Rover, but the process has been slow, frustrating, and I still haven’t received reimbursement. Regardless of what happens, it doesn’t change the fact that this should never have happened in the first place. It’s not just about money—it’s about safety and how poorly everything was handled. Even though this sitter has good reviews, I strongly urge you to think twice before booking with them. My calm nature usually keeps me from leaving reviews like this, but I feel it’s important to warn other pet parents about the negligence and lack of communication I experienced.

Kirah & Mitch were very kind and accommodating. They were very flexible with timing and allowing us to do a quick meet and greet before booking. They respond quickly to messages and sent a couple pictures/updates. We booked last minute after friends of ours had to back out due to a sick dog. I didn’t want to pay for boarding at a facility when my dog would spend most of a day in a crate so I chose Rover, which I’ve used before. They have 2 dogs of their own plus foster and daycare. It does seem that they have a lot going on with dogs. The home is small, which doesn’t mean anything but they do have a big fenced in backyard. They were upfront with telling my they don’t do walks (at least when it was hot out) The hard part to review is when I went to pick him up, they showed me he had chewed a huge hole in his pretty sturdy bed and ripped his blanket. I know those things are a risk, but honestly he has never done that in 4 years we have had him or with any other sitter he’s been with. It just made me wonder if he was either very off schedule, in his crate more than just night time (I thought he was sleeping in their room), or it was more chaos than he’s used to or maybe another dog got to it? I think he had adequate attention/play time and was kept safe, but for whatever reason, it just didn’t seem to be a good fit for him. They said it happened the first day but after that he was fine. They just didn’t mention it until the end. Again, everything was fine and he doesn’t seem bothered but just don’t know if it was the best fit for my dog.
