Mijn ervaring: Ik ben opgegroeid met kleine (asiel)hondjes thuis en in 2011 heb ik voor het eerst een maand vrijwilligerswerk gedaan in Spanje bij een hondenasiel. In de jaren daaropvolgend heb ik in verschillende buitenlandse asielen vrijwilligerswerk gedaan (zie foto's). Daar heb ik toen ook mijn eerste hondje geadopteerd toen ze 10 jaar oud was. Ik heb in 2019 een opleiding gedaan over hondengedrag en heb natuurlijk van mijn eigen hondjes ook veel geleerd. Mijn tweede hondje heb ik in 2020 geadopteerd, ook op latere leeftijd. Eind 2024 is zij overleden en sindsdien heb ik besloten om hondenoppas te worden, want ik miste het gezelschap wel! Ik heb dus veel ervaring met (oude) hondjes en heb zelfs nog een hondenbuggy hier thuis staan voor als jouw hondje wel mee wil op lange wandelingen, maar dat niet meer goed kan. Daarnaast werk ik ook als vrijwilliger elke vrijdag bij een hondendagopvang waar de honden in een groep samen zijn, waardoor ik nog meer leer over hondengedrag. Momenteel studeer ik thuis (Besluit Houders van Dieren; honden en katten) en werk ik een dag in de week als kinderoppas (10 en 12 jaar oud). Daar is de hond altijd welkom. Wat belangrijk is om te weten: Ik woon alleen en als de hond voor vakantieopvang naar mij toekomt, moet de hond wel even zonder stress alleen thuis kunnen zijn. Ik wil namelijk wel boodschappen kunnen doen of naar mijn dansles kunnen gaan zonder dat de hond dan thuis in paniek raakt. Honden zijn bij mij welkom in het hele huis, ook op de bank (samen een filmpje kijken is wel zo gezellig!). Ze mogen alleen niet op mijn bed komen, maar als je hondje blijft slapen dan staat er altijd een fijn hondenbed naast mijn bed (of zijn/haar eigen bed). Honden zijn natuurlijk groepsdieren en daar houd ik graag rekening mee. Ik ben het gewend dat ik ze overal mee naartoe neem in de auto en zo min mogelijk alleen laat. Ik vind het juist leuk als de hond overal mee naartoe kan.

Ik heb een flexibele baan dus alles kan in overleg, soms werk ik in de weekenden en soms door de weeks of ben ik weer een paar dagen vrij. Je hond heeft wat gezelschap met mijn hondjes en ik laat ze vaker per dag uit. Ik heb heel veel speelgoed, puppypads liggen ook binnen, een kattenbak hebben we, op aanvraag kan ik ook bij u thuis komen (zonder honden indien gewenst).

Over: Hello:) I'm a 22 year old cat obsessed girl who is a full time university student. I also have a part time job at the Albert Heijn. I love to read, draw, bake, study and listen to music. I had many cats as a child but since I moved here in 2017, I havent had any:'). I have taken care of many cats in the past 3 years. My most intense experience was staying in a clients house for 3 weeks, taking care of 6 cats. One of these cats required 2 insulin injections daily. Definitely tested my cat sitting skills. BUT, I got called to take care of them a second time, so I must've done something right:P My goal in life is to eventually own 6 cats of my own!

Crate-trained pets will be crated per the owner’s instructions. Having an 11-year-old husky means I have had my fair share of experience with unexpected veterinary visits and emergencies. I am comfortable communicating symptoms to veterinary professionals with thorough details as needed. I have years of experience monitoring pets’ symptoms when they are sick, providing at home first aid, and acting quickly when additional care is needed. Veterinary Care & Emergency Transport Policy: While veterinary care and especially emergency veterinary care is a rare circumstance of a booking, pets can be unpredictable. When a medical facility advises veterinary care based on a description of symptoms over the phone, pet sitter will advise seeking veterinary care. If pet owner objects to seeking veterinary care when medically necessary, pet owner will be responsible for either taking over care of their pet themselves or securing a different caregiver expeditiously. To ensure the pet sitter is adequately compensated in extenuating circumstances, please be advised that for any unexpected or emergency travel or transport over 10 miles away, a fee of $1/mile (for example: if required to drive 40 miles roundtrip, the fee will be $20) will be applied to your booking. An additional charge will also be applied to the cost of your booking at an hourly rate starting at the time of departure to the vet and ending at the time of either arrival to your home or, if your pet is required to stay at the vet, departure from the vet + time it would take to travel to the pet sitter’s home from the vet (for boarding clients, mileage will be calculated based on the roundtrip to the vet from pet sitter’s home). This will include any additional trips back and forth to and from the vet to visit or pick up your pet based on the roundtrip to the vet from pet sitter’s or your home. Hourly rates are as follows: 8am-5pm: $10/hr 5pm-10pm: $12/hr 10pm-8am: $16/hr Holidays & Weekends: $18/hr *veterinary emergency room visit wait times can exceed 8 hours on weekends and holidays Cleaning & Vehicle Damage Policy: If pet sitter is required to clean up bodily fluids due to illness (vomit, urine, blood, diarrhea, etc) in order to maintain a safe environment in your home, their own home, or their personal vehicle, a one-time fee of $40 will be applied to your booking. The pet sitter will also require reimbursement by the pet owner for any cleaning supplies that are not readily available in the pet owner’s home. If the pet sitter’s vehicle is damaged by your pet or requires professional cleaning, the pet sitter will require reimbursement for repairs and cleaning fees by the pet owner. Injury To Pet Sitter Policy: If, under any circumstance, the pet sitter is injured by a pet, the pet sitter will require reimbursement for related medical expenses by the pet owner. I’m a small business owner and work from home, taking care of my own 10 year old female Siberian Husky named Luna, and can easily accommodate some other furry friends! I have a fenced in secured back yard with multiple spotlights and security cameras, alarm system in my home which is set any time I’m away from home without my dog, and at night regardless. We have a clean 2 story home with 2k square feet of interior space and a large fenced in private back yard with a (6.5ft fence). My wife also works from home and is a highly experienced Rover sitter herself, and we treat all pups like our own!

For their safety, I highly recommend crating puppies under 2 years old and any dog with a pattern of chewing or swallowing household items (remotes, pillows, etc.) when you are not home. Crate-trained pets will be crated per the owner’s instructions. Having an 11-year-old husky means I have had my fair share of experience with unexpected veterinary visits and emergencies. I am comfortable communicating symptoms to veterinary professionals with thorough details as needed. I have years of experience monitoring pets’ symptoms when they are sick, providing at home first aid, and acting quickly when additional care is needed. Veterinary Care & Emergency Transport Policy: While veterinary care and especially emergency veterinary care is a rare circumstance of a booking, pets can be unpredictable. When a medical facility advises veterinary care based on a description of symptoms over the phone, pet sitter will advise seeking veterinary care. If pet owner objects to seeking veterinary care when medically necessary, pet owner will be responsible for either taking over care of their pet themselves or securing a different caregiver expeditiously. To ensure the pet sitter is adequately compensated in extenuating circumstances, please be advised that for any unexpected or emergency travel or transport, pet sitter will provide receipts and apply a charge for reimbursement of costs incurred to your booking. An additional charge will also be applied to the cost of your booking at an hourly rate starting at the time of departure to the vet and ending at the time of either arrival to your home or, if your pet is required to stay at the vet, departure from the vet + time it takes to travel to the pet sitter’s home from the vet. This will include any additional trips back and forth to and from the vet to visit or pick up your pet based on the roundtrip to the vet from pet sitter’s or your home. Hourly rates are as follows: 8am-5pm: €10/hr 5pm-10pm: €12/hr 10pm-8am: €16/hr Holidays & Weekends: €18/hr *veterinary emergency room visit wait times can exceed 8 hours on weekends and holidays Cleaning & Vehicle Damage Policy: If pet sitter is required to clean up bodily fluids due to illness (vomit, urine, blood, diarrhea, etc) in order to maintain a safe environment in your home, their own home, or their personal vehicle, a one-time fee of €40 will be applied to your booking. The pet sitter will also require reimbursement by the pet owner for any cleaning supplies that are not readily available in the pet owner’s home. Injury To Pet Sitter Policy: If, under any circumstance, the pet sitter is injured by a pet, the pet sitter will require reimbursement for related medical expenses by the pet owner.
Over: I began working with animals in 2016 through Paws and Claws, an independent daycare and dog walking service in the UK. My responsibilities included walking, feeding, and caring for dogs throughout the morning and afternoon. I was also responsible for pick-up and drop-off, which involved being trusted with access to clients’ homes. Alongside this, I carried out house calls to help socialise dogs or check in on those who didn’t require a full day of on-site daycare. At the daycare facility, I comfortably handled groups of up to ten dogs of varying breeds, sizes, and temperaments on walks in the local woodlands. As demand grew, I expanded my services to include house and pet sitting across several nearby villages and towns. Over the years, I have cared for a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, and guinea pigs, and I am also happy to tend to gardens or house plants when needed. After moving to Utrecht for my studies, I began offering my own dog walking and pet sitting services to pet owners that I met in the city or at surrounding walking spots. During my time in Utrecht, I also worked for a local hondenuitlaat service, which gave me experience with a lot of common (and some less common) Dutch breeds. A few years later, I am now living in Amsterdam, working full-time with dogs at a fantastic farm facility outside of the city, and finishing up my Master's degree. I work a few days a week at a dog daycare organisation on a rural farmland property outside of Amsterdam. On my working days, if I am looking after a dog, I like to bring them with me so that they can socialise with the pack. All transport is done using a fully converted, dog-friendly wagon with additional AC (and lots of cookies!). If a dog needs to be left alone or doesn't get along with other dogs, this can also be easily accommodated during the day in a safe, penned-off area at the facility. On my days off, I am entirely flexible and work from home while finishing my Master's thesis, making my routine highly compatible with dedicated pet care. I live with my girlfriend in a large, multi-room apartment in the Rivierenbuurt neighbourhood of Amsterdam. The location is convenient for dogs and humans alike, being just a short walk from several metro stations and with easy drop-off outside via street access. We are lucky to be located just a stone's throw away from Beatrixpark and Martin Luther Kingpark, with the Amstel and the Amsterdamse Bos close by, providing some wonderful green spaces right on our doorstep for daily walks. Our apartment has two balconies (one of which gets the sun all day long ☀️☀️☀️) and plenty of comfy space inside for dogs to relax. All my dog guests get an entire room to themselves to ensure they have their own quiet and safe space to rest—unless, of course, they prefer to cuddle up with us on the sofa or in bed... Because of my professional background managing packs, safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities, whether looking after a pet in my home or yours.

“We waren best gespannen om ons hondje Blizzard voor het eerst bij een onbekende achter te laten, maar vanaf het eerste contact met Shaima hadden we meteen een goed gevoel. Ze was ontzettend warm en liefdevol, en haar ervaring met honden straalde er vanaf. Dat stelde ons enorm gerust. Tijdens het verblijf hield Shaima ons dagelijks op de hoogte met lieve berichtjes, updates en leuke foto’s. Ze nam echt de tijd om ons mee te nemen in hoe het met Blizzard ging, wat we als heel prettig hebben ervaren. Ze stelde gerust vragen wanneer dat nodig was, wat haar zorgzaamheid en betrokkenheid alleen maar bevestigde. Wat we ook enorm waardeerden: Shaima merkte dat Blizzard soms wat vaker naar buiten moest omdat hij het niet altijd even goed kon ophouden. Ze heeft zich daar meteen op aangepast en is meerdere keren korte wandelmomentjes met hem gegaan. Zo lief, ze keek echt naar wat hij nodig had. En het allerbelangrijkste: Blizzard had het zó naar zijn zin, dat we bij het ophalen bijna het gevoel kregen dat hij liever nog even bij Shaima bleef. Op de foto’s en video’s zagen we ook hoe blij en ontspannen hij was, en hoe liefdevol zij met hem omging. Wij komen zéker terug bij Shaima. Het was voor ons (en voor Blizzard!) echt een ontzettend fijne en warme ervaring. We raden haar met alle vertrouwen aan!”
