Ik heb in 2019 een opleiding gedaan over hondengedrag en heb natuurlijk van mijn eigen hondjes ook veel geleerd. Mijn tweede hondje heb ik in 2020 geadopteerd, ook op latere leeftijd. Eind 2024 is zij overleden en sindsdien heb ik besloten om hondenoppas te worden, want ik miste het gezelschap wel! Ik heb dus veel ervaring met (oude) hondjes en heb zelfs nog een hondenbuggy hier thuis staan voor als jouw hondje wel mee wil op lange wandelingen, maar dat niet meer goed kan. Daarnaast werk ik ook als vrijwilliger elke vrijdag bij een hondendagopvang waar de honden in een groep samen zijn, waardoor ik nog meer leer over hondengedrag. Momenteel studeer ik thuis (Besluit Houders van Dieren; honden en katten) en werk ik een dag in de week als kinderoppas (10 en 12 jaar oud). Daar is de hond altijd welkom. Wat belangrijk is om te weten: Ik woon alleen en als de hond voor vakantieopvang naar mij toekomt, moet de hond wel even zonder stress alleen thuis kunnen zijn. Ik wil namelijk wel boodschappen kunnen doen of naar mijn dansles kunnen gaan zonder dat de hond dan thuis in paniek raakt. Honden zijn bij mij welkom in het hele huis, ook op de bank (samen een filmpje kijken is wel zo gezellig!). Ze mogen alleen niet op mijn bed komen, maar als je hondje blijft slapen dan staat er altijd een fijn hondenbed naast mijn bed (of zijn/haar eigen bed). Honden zijn natuurlijk groepsdieren en daar houd ik graag rekening mee. Ik ben het gewend dat ik ze overal mee naartoe neem in de auto en zo min mogelijk alleen laat. Ik vind het juist leuk als de hond overal mee naartoe kan.

A few years later, I am now living in Amsterdam, working full-time with dogs at a fantastic farm facility outside of the city, and finishing up my Master's degree. I work a few days a week at a dog daycare organisation on a rural farmland property outside of Amsterdam. On my working days, if I am looking after a dog, I like to bring them with me so that they can socialise with the pack. All transport is done using a fully converted, dog-friendly wagon with additional AC (and lots of cookies!). If a dog needs to be left alone or doesn't get along with other dogs, this can also be easily accommodated during the day in a safe, penned-off area at the facility. On my days off, I am entirely flexible and work from home while finishing my Master's thesis, making my routine highly compatible with dedicated pet care. I live with my girlfriend in a large, multi-room apartment in the Rivierenbuurt neighbourhood of Amsterdam. The location is convenient for dogs and humans alike, being just a short walk from several metro stations and with easy drop-off outside via street access. We are lucky to be located just a stone's throw away from Beatrixpark and Martin Luther Kingpark, with the Amstel and the Amsterdamse Bos close by, providing some wonderful green spaces right on our doorstep for daily walks. Our apartment has two balconies (one of which gets the sun all day long ☀️☀️☀️) and plenty of comfy space inside for dogs to relax. All my dog guests get an entire room to themselves to ensure they have their own quiet and safe space to rest—unless, of course, they prefer to cuddle up with us on the sofa or in bed... Because of my professional background managing packs, safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities, whether looking after a pet in my home or yours.
Over: I have extensive pet care experience spanning eight years, starting in 2016. Beyond routine care, I've regularly tended to dogs in shelters and have experience fostering them. With a personal pack of four dogs, ranging from small to medium breeds, I'm well-versed in managing various canine personalities and needs. Additionally, I specialize in training both puppies and seniors, ensuring they receive tailored care and attention suited to their age and development stage. As I'm currently just finished my Master Degree and working hybrid! I have ample flexibility in my schedule to prioritize pet care. I can seamlessly integrate it into my daily and weekly routine, ensuring that your furry friend receives the attention and care they deserve. I'm available for boarding on both weekdays and weekends, providing consistent and reliable care tailored to your pet's needs. In my apartment, I prioritize safety, trust, and creating a nurturing environment for pets. Whether in my home or a pet owner's, I ensure a secure space where pets feel comfortable and cared for. Dogs are welcome to stay in my bed if that's their preference, and I'm diligent about maintaining a pet-friendly environment. Near my home, there's a park where pets can enjoy outdoor activities and socialization. I take precautions to safeguard pets from any potential hazards and provide a loving atmosphere where they can thrive.

“Via het internet heb ik de organisatie Rover gevonden. Wij zijn op vakantie in Callantsoog en kregen het bericht dat er een goede vriend was overleden. Wij wilden naar de crematie maar konden onze hond Dex niet in de Caravan achterlaten vanwege de hoge temperaturen. Via Rover zijn wij met Maria in contact gekomen en haar uitgekozen om een dag en nacht op Dex te passen. Maria is een superlieve vrouw en dierenvriend, het klikte tussen ons en Dex en wij konden hem met een zeer rustig gevoel bij haar achterlaten. Wij werden zeer goed geïnformeerd met korte filmpjes over het wel en wee van Dex en Maria. Maria hartelijk bedankt en wij wensen jou alle goeds, jij bent een echte Dierenvriendin‼️”
