Mijn ervaring: Ik ben opgegroeid met kleine (asiel)hondjes thuis en in 2011 heb ik voor het eerst een maand vrijwilligerswerk gedaan in Spanje bij een hondenasiel. In de jaren daaropvolgend heb ik in verschillende buitenlandse asielen vrijwilligerswerk gedaan (zie foto's). Daar heb ik toen ook mijn eerste hondje geadopteerd toen ze 10 jaar oud was. Ik heb in 2019 een opleiding gedaan over hondengedrag en heb natuurlijk van mijn eigen hondjes ook veel geleerd. Mijn tweede hondje heb ik in 2020 geadopteerd, ook op latere leeftijd. Eind 2024 is zij overleden en sindsdien heb ik besloten om hondenoppas te worden, want ik miste het gezelschap wel! Ik heb dus veel ervaring met (oude) hondjes en heb zelfs nog een hondenbuggy hier thuis staan voor als jouw hondje wel mee wil op lange wandelingen, maar dat niet meer goed kan. Daarnaast werk ik ook als vrijwilliger elke vrijdag bij een hondendagopvang waar de honden in een groep samen zijn, waardoor ik nog meer leer over hondengedrag. Momenteel studeer ik thuis (Besluit Houders van Dieren; honden en katten) en werk ik een dag in de week als kinderoppas (10 en 12 jaar oud). Daar is de hond altijd welkom. Wat belangrijk is om te weten: Ik woon alleen en als de hond voor vakantieopvang naar mij toekomt, moet de hond wel even zonder stress alleen thuis kunnen zijn. Ik wil namelijk wel boodschappen kunnen doen of naar mijn dansles kunnen gaan zonder dat de hond dan thuis in paniek raakt. Honden zijn bij mij welkom in het hele huis, ook op de bank (samen een filmpje kijken is wel zo gezellig!). Ze mogen alleen niet op mijn bed komen, maar als je hondje blijft slapen dan staat er altijd een fijn hondenbed naast mijn bed (of zijn/haar eigen bed). Honden zijn natuurlijk groepsdieren en daar houd ik graag rekening mee. Ik ben het gewend dat ik ze overal mee naartoe neem in de auto en zo min mogelijk alleen laat. Ik vind het juist leuk als de hond overal mee naartoe kan.

Over: Sinds kort woon ik in Noordwijkerhout voor mijn studie en werk, en daardoor heb ik Indy en Luna, mijn twee golden retrievers, helaas bij mijn ouders moeten achterlaten. Ik mis het gezelschap van een hond enorm, en het lijkt me heel fijn om hond te hebben om wat aandacht aan te geven. Ik help graag met uitlaten of wat er verder nodig is zoals eens logeren. Over: I began working with animals in 2016 through Paws and Claws, an independent daycare and dog walking service in the UK. My responsibilities included walking, feeding, and caring for dogs throughout the morning and afternoon. I was also responsible for pick-up and drop-off, which involved being trusted with access to clients’ homes. Alongside this, I carried out house calls to help socialise dogs or check in on those who didn’t require a full day of on-site daycare. At the daycare facility, I comfortably handled groups of up to ten dogs of varying breeds, sizes, and temperaments on walks in the local woodlands. As demand grew, I expanded my services to include house and pet sitting across several nearby villages and towns. Over the years, I have cared for a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, and guinea pigs, and I am also happy to tend to gardens or house plants when needed. After moving to Utrecht for my studies, I began offering my own dog walking and pet sitting services to pet owners that I met in the city or at surrounding walking spots. During my time in Utrecht, I also worked for a local hondenuitlaat service, which gave me experience with a lot of common (and some less common) Dutch breeds. A few years later, I am now living in Amsterdam, working full-time with dogs at a fantastic farm facility outside of the city, and finishing up my Master's degree. I work a few days a week at a dog daycare organisation on a rural farmland property outside of Amsterdam. On my working days, if I am looking after a dog, I like to bring them with me so that they can socialise with the pack. All transport is done using a fully converted, dog-friendly wagon with additional AC (and lots of cookies!). If a dog needs to be left alone or doesn't get along with other dogs, this can also be easily accommodated during the day in a safe, penned-off area at the facility. On my days off, I am entirely flexible and work from home while finishing my Master's thesis, making my routine highly compatible with dedicated pet care. I live with my girlfriend in a large, multi-room apartment in the Rivierenbuurt neighbourhood of Amsterdam. The location is convenient for dogs and humans alike, being just a short walk from several metro stations and with easy drop-off outside via street access. We are lucky to be located just a stone's throw away from Beatrixpark and Martin Luther Kingpark, with the Amstel and the Amsterdamse Bos close by, providing some wonderful green spaces right on our doorstep for daily walks. Our apartment has two balconies (one of which gets the sun all day long ☀️☀️☀️) and plenty of comfy space inside for dogs to relax. All my dog guests get an entire room to themselves to ensure they have their own quiet and safe space to rest—unless, of course, they prefer to cuddle up with us on the sofa or in bed... I’ve also stayed with dogs who are crated and am comfortable with crate commands. For their safety, I highly recommend crating puppies under 2 years old and any dog with a pattern of chewing or swallowing household items (remotes, pillows, etc.) when you are not home. Crate-trained pets will be crated per the owner’s instructions. Having an 11-year-old husky means I have had my fair share of experience with unexpected veterinary visits and emergencies. I am comfortable communicating symptoms to veterinary professionals with thorough details as needed. I have years of experience monitoring pets’ symptoms when they are sick, providing at home first aid, and acting quickly when additional care is needed. Veterinary Care & Emergency Transport Policy: While veterinary care and especially emergency veterinary care is a rare circumstance of a booking, pets can be unpredictable. When a medical facility advises veterinary care based on a description of symptoms over the phone, pet sitter will advise seeking veterinary care. If pet owner objects to seeking veterinary care when medically necessary, pet owner will be responsible for either taking over care of their pet themselves or securing a different caregiver expeditiously. To ensure the pet sitter is adequately compensated in extenuating circumstances, please be advised that for any unexpected or emergency travel or transport over 10 miles away, a fee of $1/mile (for example: if required to drive 40 miles roundtrip, the fee will be $20) will be applied to your booking. An additional charge will also be applied to the cost of your booking at an hourly rate starting at the time of departure to the vet and ending at the time of either arrival to your home or, if your pet is required to stay at the vet, departure from the vet + time it would take to travel to the pet sitter’s home from the vet (for boarding clients, mileage will be calculated based on the roundtrip to the vet from pet sitter’s home). This will include any additional trips back and forth to and from the vet to visit or pick up your pet based on the roundtrip to the vet from pet sitter’s or your home. Hourly rates are as follows: 8am-5pm: $10/hr 5pm-10pm: $12/hr 10pm-8am: $16/hr Holidays & Weekends: $18/hr *veterinary emergency room visit wait times can exceed 8 hours on weekends and holidays Cleaning & Vehicle Damage Policy: If pet sitter is required to clean up bodily fluids due to illness (vomit, urine, blood, diarrhea, etc) in order to maintain a safe environment in your home, their own home, or their personal vehicle, a one-time fee of $40 will be applied to your booking. The pet sitter will also require reimbursement by the pet owner for any cleaning supplies that are not readily available in the pet owner’s home. If the pet sitter’s vehicle is damaged by your pet or requires professional cleaning, the pet sitter will require reimbursement for repairs and cleaning fees by the pet owner. Injury To Pet Sitter Policy: If, under any circumstance, the pet sitter is injured by a pet, the pet sitter will require reimbursement for related medical expenses by the pet owner. I’m a small business owner and work from home, taking care of my own 10 year old female Siberian Husky named Luna, and can easily accommodate some other furry friends! I have a fenced in secured back yard with multiple spotlights and security cameras, alarm system in my home which is set any time I’m away from home without my dog, and at night regardless. We have a clean 2 story home with 2k square feet of interior space and a large fenced in private back yard with a (6.5ft fence). My wife also works from home and is a highly experienced Rover sitter herself, and we treat all pups like our own!

Nu heb ik zins 5 jaar zelf een hond en daar ben ik heel blij mee. Ik werk parttime. meestal in de week op ( dinsdag, donderdag en vrijdag van 5tm8/9 dus ik heb genoeg tijd om voor honden te zorgen. Ik ben dol op spelen en knuffelen met honden!! Ik ga vaak naar het strand of bos met mijn hond en dat is altijd super leuk!!

Over: Hi! I'm Jess and I am a dog mom to 12-year-old Siberian Husky, Luna. She is a sweet, energetic, confident dog who loves all kinds of people and other dogs. She has lived and traveled all over the U.S. (over 20 states!) and now has made her way with us across the ocean to The Netherlands. Even before becoming a Rover sitter, I cared for friends' and neighbors' dogs on many occasions including a beagle, a husky and a golden retriever and grew up with shih tzu and a cockapoo, who I loved to play with and walk around the neighborhood. Before moving to The Netherlands, we most recently lived in Richmond, Virginia and enjoyed walking the many urban hiking trails and parks together. Since I started pet sitting through Rover, I have stayed with and looked after all of different kinds of pups including senior pups, puppies, and all different sizes of dogs from toy to large. I’ve also cared for other caged pets in the same home like rabbits when needed. I care for them all like they are my very own Luna girl. My husband is also a Rover sitter and will sometimes accompany me. David has always been a dog lover and loves to give my clients some extra attention while you’re away. He is also a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran and as such is very good under pressure/does not hesitate to act when dealing with anything out of the ordinary like illness or injury. I’ve also stayed with dogs who are crated and am comfortable with crate commands. For their safety, I highly recommend crating puppies under 2 years old and any dog with a pattern of chewing or swallowing household items (remotes, pillows, etc.) when you are not home. Crate-trained pets will be crated per the owner’s instructions. Having an 11-year-old husky means I have had my fair share of experience with unexpected veterinary visits and emergencies. I am comfortable communicating symptoms to veterinary professionals with thorough details as needed. I have years of experience monitoring pets’ symptoms when they are sick, providing at home first aid, and acting quickly when additional care is needed. Veterinary Care & Emergency Transport Policy: While veterinary care and especially emergency veterinary care is a rare circumstance of a booking, pets can be unpredictable. When a medical facility advises veterinary care based on a description of symptoms over the phone, pet sitter will advise seeking veterinary care. If pet owner objects to seeking veterinary care when medically necessary, pet owner will be responsible for either taking over care of their pet themselves or securing a different caregiver expeditiously. To ensure the pet sitter is adequately compensated in extenuating circumstances, please be advised that for any unexpected or emergency travel or transport, pet sitter will provide receipts and apply a charge for reimbursement of costs incurred to your booking. An additional charge will also be applied to the cost of your booking at an hourly rate starting at the time of departure to the vet and ending at the time of either arrival to your home or, if your pet is required to stay at the vet, departure from the vet + time it takes to travel to the pet sitter’s home from the vet. This will include any additional trips back and forth to and from the vet to visit or pick up your pet based on the roundtrip to the vet from pet sitter’s or your home. Hourly rates are as follows: 8am-5pm: €10/hr 5pm-10pm: €12/hr 10pm-8am: €16/hr Holidays & Weekends: €18/hr *veterinary emergency room visit wait times can exceed 8 hours on weekends and holidays Cleaning & Vehicle Damage Policy: If pet sitter is required to clean up bodily fluids due to illness (vomit, urine, blood, diarrhea, etc) in order to maintain a safe environment in your home, their own home, or their personal vehicle, a one-time fee of €40 will be applied to your booking. The pet sitter will also require reimbursement by the pet owner for any cleaning supplies that are not readily available in the pet owner’s home. Injury To Pet Sitter Policy: If, under any circumstance, the pet sitter is injured by a pet, the pet sitter will require reimbursement for related medical expenses by the pet owner.

Over: Sinds kort woon ik in Noordwijkerhout voor mijn studie en werk, en daardoor heb ik Indy en Luna, mijn twee golden retrievers, helaas bij mijn ouders moeten achterlaten. Ik mis het gezelschap van een hond enorm, en het lijkt me heel fijn om hond te hebben om wat aandacht aan te geven. Ik help graag met uitlaten of wat er verder nodig is zoals eens logeren. Momenteel werk ik Part-time als jurist in het vastgoed daarbij is mijn werk fietsend te doen dus lekker dichtbij!! Verder hou ik van wandelen en ga ik vaak naar het strand. Tot slot vind ik het niet erg om vroeg op te staan of mijzelf een beetje aan te passen. Ik woon in een rustige en groene omgeving om mij waar we lekker kunnen uitwaaien en als ik echt geluk heb kunnen wij zelfs naar het strand.

Over: Naast gewerkt te hebben in een dierenopvang in Kaapverdië & daar een hond te hebben waarmee ik heerlijk dagen op het strand kon doorbrengen, mis ik hier af en toe een maatje! Ik help anderen graag en heb het beste voor met de hond! Beschikbaar op aanvraag op diverse dagen, ligt aan mijn werkrooster. Echter verschilt dat in de zorg! Daarom ook op verschillende dagen beschikbaar en wat uitkomt. Ik woon in een ruim huis met tuin & met veel wandelpaden in de buurt! Daar neem ik graag een hond mee naar toe om lekker te wandelen :)
Over: Van kinds af aan honden en katten gehad. Van labrador tot bulterriër tot pomerian, veelzijdig. Zorg en aandacht naar behoefte van het dier in overleg met het baasje. Momenteel werk ik weinig uren en zelf in te vullen, dus kan volledige zorg en aandacht aan uw dieren geven, zowel bij u als bij mij thuis mogelijk. Woonachtig in een huis met tuin, met kleine honden van mijn jongste nog thuiswonende volwassen dochter en 1 kat. Ik heb hierdoor mogelijkheid om bij u thuis te komen helpen ofwel bij mij thuis.
Over: Hoi! Ik ben Lieke. Ik ben 18 jaar. Ik heb nu inmiddels al 4 jaar een goldenretriever. Ik vind het heel leuk om honden op te voeden, uit te laten en lekker mee te spelen. Ik heb vroeger ook huisdieren gehad als cavia’s en hamsters. Ik ben heel erg dol op huisdieren!! Als ik in de ochtend wakker wordt laat ik mijn hond uit en geef ik mijn hond eten en drinken. Als ik uit ben ga ik naar huis en laat ik mijn hond uit in het bos bij mij om de hoek. Ik heb een tuin met hekken erom heen. Ik heb veel ruimte in mijn huis waar de hond lekker kan rondlopen. Ik heb veel honden speeltjes in huis.
Over: Ik ben altijd al een dierenvriend geweest! In het bijzonder honden, sinds 7 jaar heb ik een lief maltezertje Tommie. Een aantal jaar geleden heb ik vrijwilligerswerk gedaan in een dierenasiel, ik werk nu parttime en zou het leuk vinden om zo nu en dan honden uit te laten, op te passen en leuk mee te spelen! Aangezien ik momenteel parttime werk zou ik voor een aantal dagen in de week honden kunnen uit laten of voor een aantal uur op een dag kunnen oppassen. Doordeweeks in de ochtenden of middag, in overleg Ik woon in Noordwijk in een grote flat op de 3e etage zonder lift Er is genoeg plaats voor de honden om bij mij te vertoeven!
Over: Ik laat vaak me eigen hond veel uit en die van de buren. Ik kan puppy’s opvoeden en kunstjes leren! Ik hou van honden en katten zijn ook Welkom Momenteel doe ik school door de weeks maar ben vaak om 15:00 uit en op maandag en vrijdag ben ik vrij om de week! In het weekend doe ik sport maar ben om 13:00 klaar. Ik heb een dakterras met hekken eromheen en woon boven een supermarkt! Je moet dus wel een trap op. Het kan bij mij maar bij het baasje is wel goed
Over: Ik ben vroeger opgegroeid met pitbulls en heb daar ook voor gezorgd en onderdeel uitgemaakt van de opvoeding. Ik heb nu 2 pomeranians (echt mijn eigen hondjes) en die zijn super lief en heel vrolijk en speels met andere hondjes, groot, klein maakt allemaal niks uit voor ze. Ik heb een flexibele baan dus alles kan in overleg, soms werk ik in de weekenden en soms door de weeks of ben ik weer een paar dagen vrij. Je hond heeft wat gezelschap met mijn hondjes en ik laat ze vaker per dag uit. Ik heb heel veel speelgoed, puppypads liggen ook binnen, een kattenbak hebben we, op aanvraag kan ik ook bij u thuis komen (zonder honden indien gewenst).
