Although I work full-time, I always make sure the dogs in my care get plenty of exercise, attention, and love. I work alternating shifts, which gives me flexibility throughout the day. Even when I have an early shift, I'm used to early mornings, so getting up at 4 a.m. isn't a problem for me. Dogs staying with me will enjoy at least four walks a day: one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and two more walks before bedtime. I also spend a lot of time outdoors with my own dog, so your dog will have plenty of opportunities to explore, exercise, and have fun. I understand that every dog has different needs. If your dog prefers to walk alone or isn't comfortable with other dogs, I'm more than happy to take them on separate walks. I don't use a crate unless that's part of your dog's normal routine and you specifically request it. My goal is to make every dog feel safe, comfortable, and at home while they're with me. I can easily take care of your dog's or cats special needs, my own dog is allergic to chicken and is very picky. I have lots of patience and I would care for it as for my own baby.

Since moving to Amsterdam, I've really missed having animals around, so taking care of dogs here feels like a natural way to continue doing something I genuinely enjoy. Besides caring for my own dogs, I've looked after my cousin's cat on two separate occasions for around 2 3 weeks each time, as well as my sister-in-law's dog. These experiences have taught me the importance of respecting each pet's personality and routine, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I live with my girlfriend, who is also a big animal lover, and we both have flexible schedules, which means your dog will have plenty of company and attention throughout the day. Over: I have had a dog since I was 10 and have had experience training it. I look after dogs quite often here in Amsterdam, and can provide recommendations from people I have dog sit for. I work part time and am a student so have plenty of spare time to take care of the dog and am flexible to the dogs needs. I have had a lot of experience of understanding what dogs need for me and when they need more and less attention. My home is dog friendly with no things lying around for them to accidentally swallow. Over: Two Dalmatians, a chihuahua, a Pomeranian and three mutts were my siblings growing up. I took care of them through every vet visit, may it be grooming days, sick days, or the few times they’ve given birth to puppies! Over: I’ve lived with both cats and dogs: grew up with a stubborn teckel, and more recently adopted a senior cat. I love the energy of puppies and the peace of old aged pets. Due to my schedule I can’t adopt anymore but miss that contact and energy. I do mostly have a hectic schedule, but the days or periods when I’m off I can adapt and give my full attention to your pet. I live in an apartment with a small high fenced garden. Besides that I live next to a big park that allows for long walks a runs.

Over: I grew up with pets (dogs and rodents) and have taken care of pets practically my whole life. 5 years ago, I took a wonderful boy called Charlie home from the shelter (you can see him in all of my pictures). He was already a bit older, and I was lucky to have him by my side for 4.5 years until he sadly passed away last October. I have a big heart for animals, and therefore miss taking care of a hairy friend! I have experience with taking care of both small and larger dogs, as well as senior dogs and dogs with medical needs. I recently started a PhD and am therefore not home during work days (mo-fr). This is why I currently am not in the position of adopting a dog myself, but would love to take care of dogs on the weekends when I am home. When taking care of a dog I adjust my routine to meet the needs of the dog. I try to suit the needs of the animal and respect their boundaries. If they prefer to be lazy or alone, I give them space, if they prefer interaction and play, I give them attention. I feed them and walk them as agreed with the owner.

Over: Hi! I'm Jess and I am a dog mom to 12-year-old Siberian Husky, Luna. She is a sweet, energetic, confident dog who loves all kinds of people and other dogs. She has lived and traveled all over the U.S. (over 20 states!) and now has made her way with us across the ocean to The Netherlands. Even before becoming a Rover sitter, I cared for friends' and neighbors' dogs on many occasions including a beagle, a husky and a golden retriever and grew up with shih tzu and a cockapoo, who I loved to play with and walk around the neighborhood. Crate-trained pets will be crated per the owner’s instructions. Having an 11-year-old husky means I have had my fair share of experience with unexpected veterinary visits and emergencies. I am comfortable communicating symptoms to veterinary professionals with thorough details as needed. I have years of experience monitoring pets’ symptoms when they are sick, providing at home first aid, and acting quickly when additional care is needed. Veterinary Care & Emergency Transport Policy: While veterinary care and especially emergency veterinary care is a rare circumstance of a booking, pets can be unpredictable. When a medical facility advises veterinary care based on a description of symptoms over the phone, pet sitter will advise seeking veterinary care. If pet owner objects to seeking veterinary care when medically necessary, pet owner will be responsible for either taking over care of their pet themselves or securing a different caregiver expeditiously. To ensure the pet sitter is adequately compensated in extenuating circumstances, please be advised that for any unexpected or emergency travel or transport, pet sitter will provide receipts and apply a charge for reimbursement of costs incurred to your booking. An additional charge will also be applied to the cost of your booking at an hourly rate starting at the time of departure to the vet and ending at the time of either arrival to your home or, if your pet is required to stay at the vet, departure from the vet + time it takes to travel to the pet sitter’s home from the vet. This will include any additional trips back and forth to and from the vet to visit or pick up your pet based on the roundtrip to the vet from pet sitter’s or your home. Hourly rates are as follows: 8am-5pm: €10/hr 5pm-10pm: €12/hr 10pm-8am: €16/hr Holidays & Weekends: €18/hr *veterinary emergency room visit wait times can exceed 8 hours on weekends and holidays Cleaning & Vehicle Damage Policy: If pet sitter is required to clean up bodily fluids due to illness (vomit, urine, blood, diarrhea, etc) in order to maintain a safe environment in your home, their own home, or their personal vehicle, a one-time fee of €40 will be applied to your booking. The pet sitter will also require reimbursement by the pet owner for any cleaning supplies that are not readily available in the pet owner’s home. Injury To Pet Sitter Policy: If, under any circumstance, the pet sitter is injured by a pet, the pet sitter will require reimbursement for related medical expenses by the pet owner.
