“Via het internet heb ik de organisatie Rover gevonden. Wij zijn op vakantie in Callantsoog en kregen het bericht dat er een goede vriend was overleden. Wij wilden naar de crematie maar konden onze hond Dex niet in de Caravan achterlaten vanwege de hoge temperaturen. Via Rover zijn wij met Maria in contact gekomen en haar uitgekozen om een dag en nacht op Dex te passen. Maria is een superlieve vrouw en dierenvriend, het klikte tussen ons en Dex en wij konden hem met een zeer rustig gevoel bij haar achterlaten. Wij werden zeer goed geïnformeerd met korte filmpjes over het wel en wee van Dex en Maria. Maria hartelijk bedankt en wij wensen jou alle goeds, jij bent een echte Dierenvriendin‼️”

He was sick and is not around us anymore for 2 years now. Now we got a puppy of 5 monts, a belgian malinois. Because of him i also have experience in puppy care and training. “We waren best gespannen om ons hondje Blizzard voor het eerst bij een onbekende achter te laten, maar vanaf het eerste contact met Shaima hadden we meteen een goed gevoel. Ze was ontzettend warm en liefdevol, en haar ervaring met honden straalde er vanaf. Dat stelde ons enorm gerust. Tijdens het verblijf hield Shaima ons dagelijks op de hoogte met lieve berichtjes, updates en leuke foto’s. Ze nam echt de tijd om ons mee te nemen in hoe het met Blizzard ging, wat we als heel prettig hebben ervaren. Ze stelde gerust vragen wanneer dat nodig was, wat haar zorgzaamheid en betrokkenheid alleen maar bevestigde. Wat we ook enorm waardeerden: Shaima merkte dat Blizzard soms wat vaker naar buiten moest omdat hij het niet altijd even goed kon ophouden. Ze heeft zich daar meteen op aangepast en is meerdere keren korte wandelmomentjes met hem gegaan. Zo lief, ze keek echt naar wat hij nodig had. En het allerbelangrijkste: Blizzard had het zó naar zijn zin, dat we bij het ophalen bijna het gevoel kregen dat hij liever nog even bij Shaima bleef. Op de foto’s en video’s zagen we ook hoe blij en ontspannen hij was, en hoe liefdevol zij met hem omging. Wij komen zéker terug bij Shaima. Het was voor ons (en voor Blizzard!) echt een ontzettend fijne en warme ervaring. We raden haar met alle vertrouwen aan!”

I’ve had dogs around me my whole life, I grew up with a Golden Retriever and a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and have in my later teens helped raised two Kangals. I have a lot of understanding and respect for dogs, both big and small. Lately I’m sitting my brothers Cane Corso Enzo, he is a puppy who needs a lot of training, and I’m up for the challenge! Apart from my experience and love for animals, I am an active person who walks a lot, I love being in nature and I would say I have a lot of patience. Whether it’s an older dog who needs a slower pace, or an active dog who needs a long power walk, I’m up for it! Since I am a student at the UvA, some mornings and afternoons are blocked out, but also some days are totally free for me. I’ll be honest and say that my schedule might change every 2 months with new courses, but mostly I am busy 3 days of the week. Still, everyday I stay active by going on a walk in Amsterdamse bos, going to the gym or biking. I love to cook and to relax with my boyfriend at home (he is also crazy about dogs!) I live in an apartment of roughly 95 m2, with a big living room and a large balcony (with a serious fence). We keep it clean with fresh air flowing. We live 3 minutes walking from the Amsterdamse Bos, it’s a national treasure and a dog heaven! My boyfriend and I live together have the same philosophy: nobody has died from a dog on the couch. But the of course, if your dog is not used to being on furniture, we will respect his/her boundaries ;) I will be as strict or relaxed as the dog needs me to be, I am a flexible dog sitter.

Over: Hoi hoi, ik heb bij mijn ouders thuis altijd een hond gehad. Hier speelde ik met plezier mee en liep ik vaak een rondje. Nu ik in Alkmaar woon zou ik het leuk vinden om af en toe een rondje met een hond te wandelen! Door de weeks werk in in de kinderopvang. Ik werk vaak 4 dagen, de andere dagen ben ik beschikbaar om een rondje met uw hond te lopen of meer. Bij mijn ouders behandelen wij onze hond met liefde. Over: k heb ervaring met het verzorgen en uitlaten van honden van verschillende leeftijden en karakters. Ik vind het belangrijk om goed te kijken naar de behoeften van iedere hond, of het nu gaat om een energieke wandeling, spelen en aandacht, of juist een rustige aanpak. Door mijn geduldige en verantwoordelijke houding voelen honden zich snel op hun gemak bij mij. Ik zorg ervoor dat ze voldoende beweging, aandacht en verzorging krijgen, zodat ze zich veilig en gelukkig voelen terwijl hun baasje weg is. Ik werk vanuit huis, waardoor ik veel tijd heb om aandacht te geven aan de dieren die ik verzorg. Daarnaast maak ik dagelijks wandelingen, dus honden die graag naar buiten gaan krijgen voldoende beweging en gezelschap. Ik bied zowel oppas aan bij mij thuis als bezoeken aan huis, afhankelijk van de behoeften van jouw huisdier. Bij opvang thuis krijgen dieren veel aandacht, gezelschap en een rustige, veilige omgeving. Bij verzorging aan huis zorg ik voor voeding, vers water, speeltijd, knuffels, kattenbakreiniging en indien gewenst een wandeling. Over: Als kind heb ik mijn eerste hond gekregen, op voorwaarde dat ik haar uit zou laten. Dat was geen probleem, ik kwam zo mooi onder de afwas uit! Als volwassene heb ik twee honden gehad, één is 11 jaar geworden en één 16. Nu ben ik hondloos, maar nog even gek op honden als toen ik 10 was. Ik werk veel vanuit huis, wandel tussen de middag graag een rondje en doe dat het liefst in goed gezelschap. Over: Ik heb als kind zelf altijd honden gehad en ze ook altijd uitgelaten en veel met ze geknuffeld en gespeeld. Zelf hebben wij een chihuahua gehad die hebben we helaas moeten laten inslapen. Maar de liefde voor honden is er nog steeds mijn kindjes zijn ook gek op dieren. Ik werk in de zorg als zzp’er maar werk nooit hele lange uren achter elkaar kom tussen door altijd naar huis. Daarom hoeft de hond nooit langer dan 4 uurtjes alleen te zijn. De kindjes vinden het ook leuk om te helpen met het uitlaten en het borstelen van de hond Ik heb een omheinde Thuin dus de hond kan niet weg lopen. De hond mag bij ons op de bank liggen en op bed liggen

Over: Als kind ben ik opgegroeid tussen de dieren en we hadden altijd honden. Die jarenlange ervaring heeft ervoor gezorgd dat ik dol ben op honden. Groot en klein! Over: Sinds mijn geboorte ben ik al omringd door huisdieren, poezen, honden, konijnen, vogels, zelf paarden. Ik zou mij geen leven zonder huisdieren kunnen voorstellen. Ik laat graag de hond uit en knuffel met de poezen. Momenteel zit ik in de ziektewet en ben ik elke dag thuis met de poezen en mijn dochter (4 april 2025). Ik heb een tijd op een ranch in Duitsland gewoond waar we twee Australian Shepherds en een Border Collie hadden. De Aussies heb ik grotendeels vanaf pup opgevoed en met onze Border Collie, die een lastig verleden had, ben ik ook meerdere keren naar de hondenschool geweest. Daardoor heb ik geleerd goed om te gaan met verschillende karakters en gedragingen. Daarnaast heb ik vaak opgepast op de Jack Russell van een vriendin tijdens vakanties en andere momenten. Ik hou van lange wandelingen, avontuur en actief bezig zijn met honden — vroeger nam ik ze zelfs regelmatig mee tijdens het paardrijden 😊 Ik ben geduldig, rustig en speels, maar durf ook duidelijk en consequent te zijn wanneer dat nodig is. Medicatie geven is geen probleem en ik sta open voor alle soorten honden. Ik geloof niet echt in “slechte rassen”, iedere hond is anders en verdient een eerlijke kans en liefdevolle begeleiding. Over: I began working with animals in 2016 through Paws and Claws, an independent daycare and dog walking service in the UK. My responsibilities included walking, feeding, and caring for dogs throughout the morning and afternoon. I was also responsible for pick-up and drop-off, which involved being trusted with access to clients’ homes. Alongside this, I carried out house calls to help socialise dogs or check in on those who didn’t require a full day of on-site daycare. Over: Opgegroeid met herders en daarna altijd op de honden van vrienden en kennissen gepast voor langere periodes. In 2019 ben ik begonnen met Dogbuddy (nu Rover) en dit beviel erg goed. Ik was voor langere tijd de vaste oppas voor verschillende honden of ze kwamen vaker terug bij vakanties en/of weekendjes weg. Zelfs is er aan mij gevraagd of ik enkele honden wil overnemen, omdat de gezinnen helaas te weinig tijd hadden. Sinds 4 jaar een eigen hond (Ozzy, gecastreerde reu) Dit is een kruising tussen een Leonberger en een Corgi Pembroke. Een heerlijk vrolijke noot en het lijkt ons zeker leuk om onze vrije dagen met nog een hond te delen. Ik woon in Heemskerk vlakbij Wijk aan zee strand, waar ik ook regelmatig ga wandelen samen met Ozzy. Het bos is ook een populaire bestemming waar wij vaak te vinden zijn. Lekker los kunnen lopen is dan ook een must! Op zaterdag, zondag maandag ben ik vrij en kan ik makkelijk een hond extra erbij verzorgen. Op de andere dagen werk ik en wissel ik af met mijn vriend. Ook logeert onze hond 1 nachtje bij mijn ouders doordeweeks. Ik heb een omheinde tuin en een grote camper om de honden apart in te vervoeren naar het strand. Mijn hond zit voorin en de andere hond kan achterin liggen.

“Via het internet heb ik de organisatie Rover gevonden. Wij zijn op vakantie in Callantsoog en kregen het bericht dat er een goede vriend was overleden. Wij wilden naar de crematie maar konden onze hond Dex niet in de Caravan achterlaten vanwege de hoge temperaturen. Via Rover zijn wij met Maria in contact gekomen en haar uitgekozen om een dag en nacht op Dex te passen. Maria is een superlieve vrouw en dierenvriend, het klikte tussen ons en Dex en wij konden hem met een zeer rustig gevoel bij haar achterlaten. Wat we ook enorm waardeerden: Shaima merkte dat Blizzard soms wat vaker naar buiten moest omdat hij het niet altijd even goed kon ophouden. Ze heeft zich daar meteen op aangepast en is meerdere keren korte wandelmomentjes met hem gegaan. Zo lief, ze keek echt naar wat hij nodig had. En het allerbelangrijkste: Blizzard had het zó naar zijn zin, dat we bij het ophalen bijna het gevoel kregen dat hij liever nog even bij Shaima bleef. Op de foto’s en video’s zagen we ook hoe blij en ontspannen hij was, en hoe liefdevol zij met hem omging. Wij komen zéker terug bij Shaima. Het was voor ons (en voor Blizzard!) echt een ontzettend fijne en warme ervaring. We raden haar met alle vertrouwen aan!”

Over: Hi, I’m Julia! I’m 27 years old, born and raised on a Swedish farm and now studying a Masters in Communication Science at UvA. I’m fluent in English, Dutch and Swedish (I can teach your dog some ;) ) Ever since I can remember I’ve been a big fan of dogs. I’ve had dogs around me my whole life, I grew up with a Golden Retriever and a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and have in my later teens helped raised two Kangals. I have a lot of understanding and respect for dogs, both big and small. Lately I’m sitting my brothers Cane Corso Enzo, he is a puppy who needs a lot of training, and I’m up for the challenge! Apart from my experience and love for animals, I am an active person who walks a lot, I love being in nature and I would say I have a lot of patience. Whether it’s an older dog who needs a slower pace, or an active dog who needs a long power walk, I’m up for it! Since I am a student at the UvA, some mornings and afternoons are blocked out, but also some days are totally free for me. I’ll be honest and say that my schedule might change every 2 months with new courses, but mostly I am busy 3 days of the week. Still, everyday I stay active by going on a walk in Amsterdamse bos, going to the gym or biking. I love to cook and to relax with my boyfriend at home (he is also crazy about dogs!) I live in an apartment of roughly 95 m2, with a big living room and a large balcony (with a serious fence). We keep it clean with fresh air flowing. We live 3 minutes walking from the Amsterdamse Bos, it’s a national treasure and a dog heaven! My boyfriend and I live together have the same philosophy: nobody has died from a dog on the couch. But the of course, if your dog is not used to being on furniture, we will respect his/her boundaries ;) I will be as strict or relaxed as the dog needs me to be, I am a flexible dog sitter.

Over: Honden zijn altijd een groot onderdeel van mijn leven geweest. Ik ben opgegroeid met honden en heb al sinds mijn tweede levensjaar altijd één of meerdere honden thuis gehad. Daardoor ben ik gewend aan verschillende rassen, karakters en leeftijden en weet ik hoe belangrijk rust, structuur en aandacht zijn. Door mijn drukke werk en mijn regelmatige reizen vind ik het op dit moment niet eerlijk om zelf fulltime een hond te hebben. Toch mis ik de gezelligheid en liefde die een hond met zich meebrengt. Daarom is Rover voor mij de perfecte oplossing: ik kan honden een fijne, veilige en liefdevolle plek bieden, terwijl baasjes met een gerust hart weg kunnen. Ik behandel elke hond alsof het mijn eigen hond is. Betrouwbaarheid, goede communicatie en het welzijn van de hond staan voor mij altijd op de eerste plaats. Ik werk flexibel waardoor ik mijn planning goed kan afstemmen. Ik ben beschikbaar op zowel doordeweekse dagen als in het weekend en denk graag mee als er last-minute opvang nodig is. ik ben opgegroeid met honden, waardoor de verzorging voor mij heel natuurlijk voelt. Jouw hond verblijft in een ruim appartement van ongeveer 120 m² met voldoende ruimte om te ontspannen. Ik woon op loopafstand van zowel het Erasmuspark als het Rembrandtpark, waardoor we meerdere keren per dag fijne wandelingen kunnen maken in een groene omgeving. Of je hond nu graag actief is of juist behoefte heeft aan rust, ik zorg ervoor dat hij of zij zich veilig, ontspannen en thuis voelt.
