“We waren best gespannen om ons hondje Blizzard voor het eerst bij een onbekende achter te laten, maar vanaf het eerste contact met Shaima hadden we meteen een goed gevoel. Ze was ontzettend warm en liefdevol, en haar ervaring met honden straalde er vanaf. Dat stelde ons enorm gerust. Tijdens het verblijf hield Shaima ons dagelijks op de hoogte met lieve berichtjes, updates en leuke foto’s. Ze nam echt de tijd om ons mee te nemen in hoe het met Blizzard ging, wat we als heel prettig hebben ervaren. Ze stelde gerust vragen wanneer dat nodig was, wat haar zorgzaamheid en betrokkenheid alleen maar bevestigde. Wat we ook enorm waardeerden: Shaima merkte dat Blizzard soms wat vaker naar buiten moest omdat hij het niet altijd even goed kon ophouden. Ze heeft zich daar meteen op aangepast en is meerdere keren korte wandelmomentjes met hem gegaan. Zo lief, ze keek echt naar wat hij nodig had. En het allerbelangrijkste: Blizzard had het zó naar zijn zin, dat we bij het ophalen bijna het gevoel kregen dat hij liever nog even bij Shaima bleef. Op de foto’s en video’s zagen we ook hoe blij en ontspannen hij was, en hoe liefdevol zij met hem omging. Wij komen zéker terug bij Shaima. Het was voor ons (en voor Blizzard!) echt een ontzettend fijne en warme ervaring. We raden haar met alle vertrouwen aan!”

I’ve had dogs around me my whole life, I grew up with a Golden Retriever and a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and have in my later teens helped raised two Kangals. I have a lot of understanding and respect for dogs, both big and small. Lately I’m sitting my brothers Cane Corso Enzo, he is a puppy who needs a lot of training, and I’m up for the challenge! Apart from my experience and love for animals, I am an active person who walks a lot, I love being in nature and I would say I have a lot of patience. Whether it’s an older dog who needs a slower pace, or an active dog who needs a long power walk, I’m up for it! Since I am a student at the UvA, some mornings and afternoons are blocked out, but also some days are totally free for me. I’ll be honest and say that my schedule might change every 2 months with new courses, but mostly I am busy 3 days of the week. Still, everyday I stay active by going on a walk in Amsterdamse bos, going to the gym or biking. I love to cook and to relax with my boyfriend at home (he is also crazy about dogs!) I live in an apartment of roughly 95 m2, with a big living room and a large balcony (with a serious fence). We keep it clean with fresh air flowing. We live 3 minutes walking from the Amsterdamse Bos, it’s a national treasure and a dog heaven! My boyfriend and I live together have the same philosophy: nobody has died from a dog on the couch. But the of course, if your dog is not used to being on furniture, we will respect his/her boundaries ;) I will be as strict or relaxed as the dog needs me to be, I am a flexible dog sitter.

Naast dagopvang kan je hond ook bij mij logeren. Logeren is voor sommige honden heel spannend dat ik graag in de avond bij je viervoeter blijf zodat ie geen stress of bang is. Jou hond zal altijd en elke dag alle liefde en aandacht krijgen net als mijn eigen hond. We zoeken het liefst honden die kindvriendelijk zijn en gewend zijn aan kinderen. Dankzij Pawshake heb ik al op tientallen honden gepast van klein tot groot en het is altijd geweldig om te zien dat de honden genieten en dat de baasjes heel tevreden naar huis gaan. Daar doe ik het voor en natuurlijk voor de warme knuffels van uw hond!! We hebben ook een hondje Rosie en ze houdt ervan om met andere hondjes te spelen. Ik heb puppy's gehad tot oudere honden en ik kan daarnaast ook medicatie geven aan uw huisdier. Stuur mij een leuke berichtje via Rover. Heel veel liefs van ons. Extra dienst die ik erbij doe wat in de prijs inbegrepen is dat ik elke dag updates stuur over je hond en daarbij leuke foto’s/filmpjes van je hond. Door deze extra ben je altijd dicht bij je viervoeter. Ik ben een flexibele honden oppasser. Elke dag thuis en elke dag beschikbaar. Dagopvang start in de ochtend vanaf 7:00 tot 18:00. Logeren vanaf 14:00 tot de volgende ochtend om 12:00. Ik heb een grote afgesloten tuin en een lieve hond. Elke week heb drie vaste honden die langs komen voor dagopvang. Daarnaast heb ik twee dochters dus je hond heeft alle gezelschap en liefde.

Over: I've been surrounded by dogs for most of my life. I grew up with two wonderful dogs a Bernese Mountain Dog and, more recently, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, who is still living happily with my family in Brazil. Since moving to Amsterdam, I've really missed having animals around, so taking care of dogs here feels like a natural way to continue doing something I genuinely enjoy. Besides caring for my own dogs, I've looked after my cousin's cat on two separate occasions for around 2 3 weeks each time, as well as my sister-in-law's dog. These experiences have taught me the importance of respecting each pet's personality and routine, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I live with my girlfriend, who is also a big animal lover, and we both have flexible schedules, which means your dog will have plenty of company and attention throughout the day. Omdat mijn onregelmatige rooster het niet mogelijk maakt om 24/7 voor een huisdier te zorgen, besloot ik mijn vrije tijd te benutten om liefdevolle en betrouwbare zorg voor uw huisdieren aan te bieden. Dit lijkt mij de perfecte oplossing! Met mijn achtergrond kan ik soepel inspelen op de behoeften van uw viervoeter, of het nu gaat om een speelse wandeling, een rustige knuffelsessie, of het laten uitrusten van uw huisdier. Ondanks de onregelmatigheid kan ik tijdens mijn vrije momenten consistent en betrouwbaar zorg bieden voor uw huisdieren. Ik kan u huisdier gezelschap houden tijdens uw afwezigheid. Ik ben in staat om de verzorging, voeden en het spelen even van u over te nemen. Hierdoor krijgt u huisdier de aandacht en zorg die hij of zij verdient, zelfs wanneer mijn rooster wisselend is. Bij mij thuis bied ik een ruime en comfortabele omgeving voor uw huisdier. Mijn appartement bevindt zich op de zesde verdieping, maar geen zorgen: er is een lift aanwezig voor gemakkelijke toegang. Mijn woning is groot en biedt uw huisdier veel ruimte om te verkennen en zich op zijn gemak te voelen. Hoewel mijn balkon op zes hoog is, is het voorzien van een betonnen muur die voorkomt dat uw huisdier erdoorheen kan vallen. De deuren naar het balkon blijven gesloten als u zich daar niet prettig bij voelt, zodat er binnen voldoende ruimte is voor uw huisdier om te ontspannen en te spelen. Daarnaast woon ik vlak bij het Rembrandtpark, waar we samen lange en verfrissende wandelingen kunnen maken. Dit biedt uw huisdier de kans om voldoende beweging te krijgen en van de buitenlucht te genieten. Of de verzorging bij mij thuis plaatsvindt of tijdens een wandeling, ik zorg ervoor dat de behoeften van uw huisdier volledig worden vervuld. Voor zorg bij mij; u huisdier profiteert van een ruime, veilige en liefdevolle omgeving, evenals de mogelijkheid om heerlijk te wandelen in het nabijgelegen park.

Over: I grew up with dogs and, as an adult, have regularly cared for dogs for friends, so I feel very comfortable and confident around them. I truly enjoy spending time with dogs—whether that’s going for active walks and playtime or simply relaxing together for a cuddle on the couch. I am the sole caregiver and will always be the one responsible for your dog’s care and supervision. I understand how important it is to feel that your pet is in safe, reliable hands. I do have an 8-year-old child who is present after school hours. He is very gentle, respectful, and absolutely loves dogs. He enjoys playing and cuddling with them, but your dog will never be left alone with him—I am always present and supervising interactions to ensure everyone’s comfort and safety. I work full time, but I am self-employed, so can bring dogs with me to work. From there we can go for a longer walk around lunchtime, or shorter toilet breaks as necessary. Longer walks are also possible before or after work. On weekends we can go for adventures to the many parks of Amsterdam. I have a bakfiets, so if it’s ok with you, we can get around town with the wind in our fur! I have a clean and welcoming environment in my home, with room for playing and napping. I live on the third floor, and there are stairs inside my apartment too. I’m happy to carry smaller dogs up and down, but this might be something to consider. In general, when I am caring for a dog, it’s much like having a child to take care of. I do have an 8 year old (who is very sweet and gentle with dogs), so your dog has to be friendly and comfortable with children. I also need to know how your dog is with other dogs and people, so I can act accordingly. I never let dogs off leash before i know them very well, because I take my responsibility very seriously. And always pick up poop!

Over: Hi! 😊 Honden zijn voor mij echt familie en ik vind het belangrijk dat ze zich veilig, geliefd en op hun gemak voelen. Ik heb een tijd op een ranch in Duitsland gewoond waar we twee Australian Shepherds en een Border Collie hadden. De Aussies heb ik grotendeels vanaf pup opgevoed en met onze Border Collie, die een lastig verleden had, ben ik ook meerdere keren naar de hondenschool geweest. Daardoor heb ik geleerd goed om te gaan met verschillende karakters en gedragingen. Daarnaast heb ik vaak opgepast op de Jack Russell van een vriendin tijdens vakanties en andere momenten. Ik hou van lange wandelingen, avontuur en actief bezig zijn met honden — vroeger nam ik ze zelfs regelmatig mee tijdens het paardrijden 😊 Ik ben geduldig, rustig en speels, maar durf ook duidelijk en consequent te zijn wanneer dat nodig is. Medicatie geven is geen probleem en ik sta open voor alle soorten honden. Ik geloof niet echt in “slechte rassen”, iedere hond is anders en verdient een eerlijke kans en liefdevolle begeleiding. Verder heb ik een auto, dus uitstapjes of ophalen is vaak mogelijk. En ja… als een hond graag bij je op bed kruipt voor extra knuffels, dan vind ik dat helemaal gezellig 🐾 Momenteel heb ik nog geen vaste baan, waardoor ik veel vrije tijd en flexibiliteit heb. Daardoor kan ik huisdieren veel aandacht geven, wandelingen plannen en mijn dagelijkse routine aanpassen aan hun behoeften Ik zorg voor een rustige, veilige en vertrouwde omgeving voor ieder huisdier en heb een omheind tuintje. Over: Ik heet Monique en ik woon met mijn man en twee dochters van vijf en negen jaar in Purmerend. Ik en mijn dochters houden enorm van honden daarom heb ik de fantastische “baan”” hondenoppas. Bij mijn thuis kan je je hond spelen, rennen, slapen, en heerlijk knuffelen met de allerbeste knuffelbare lieve kinderen en mij. We houden ook heel erg wandelen en op onderzoek uit gaan en natuurlijk ook heel veel spelen in onze ruime achtertuin. Inmiddels komen elke week drie vaste lieve honden als dagopvang. Naast dagopvang kan je hond ook bij mij logeren. Logeren is voor sommige honden heel spannend dat ik graag in de avond bij je viervoeter blijf zodat ie geen stress of bang is. Jou hond zal altijd en elke dag alle liefde en aandacht krijgen net als mijn eigen hond. We zoeken het liefst honden die kindvriendelijk zijn en gewend zijn aan kinderen. Dankzij Pawshake heb ik al op tientallen honden gepast van klein tot groot en het is altijd geweldig om te zien dat de honden genieten en dat de baasjes heel tevreden naar huis gaan. Daar doe ik het voor en natuurlijk voor de warme knuffels van uw hond!! We hebben ook een hondje Rosie en ze houdt ervan om met andere hondjes te spelen. Ik heb puppy's gehad tot oudere honden en ik kan daarnaast ook medicatie geven aan uw huisdier. Stuur mij een leuke berichtje via Rover. Heel veel liefs van ons. Extra dienst die ik erbij doe wat in de prijs inbegrepen is dat ik elke dag updates stuur over je hond en daarbij leuke foto’s/filmpjes van je hond. Door deze extra ben je altijd dicht bij je viervoeter. Ik ben een flexibele honden oppasser. Elke dag thuis en elke dag beschikbaar. Dagopvang start in de ochtend vanaf 7:00 tot 18:00. Logeren vanaf 14:00 tot de volgende ochtend om 12:00. Ik heb een grote afgesloten tuin en een lieve hond. Elke week heb drie vaste honden die langs komen voor dagopvang. Daarnaast heb ik twee dochters dus je hond heeft alle gezelschap en liefde.

Over: I began working with animals in 2016 through Paws and Claws, an independent daycare and dog walking service in the UK. My responsibilities included walking, feeding, and caring for dogs throughout the morning and afternoon. I was also responsible for pick-up and drop-off, which involved being trusted with access to clients’ homes. Alongside this, I carried out house calls to help socialise dogs or check in on those who didn’t require a full day of on-site daycare. On my working days, if I am looking after a dog, I like to bring them with me so that they can socialise with the pack. All transport is done using a fully converted, dog-friendly wagon with additional AC (and lots of cookies!). If a dog needs to be left alone or doesn't get along with other dogs, this can also be easily accommodated during the day in a safe, penned-off area at the facility. On my days off, I am entirely flexible and work from home while finishing my Master's thesis, making my routine highly compatible with dedicated pet care. I live with my girlfriend in a large, multi-room apartment in the Rivierenbuurt neighbourhood of Amsterdam. The location is convenient for dogs and humans alike, being just a short walk from several metro stations and with easy drop-off outside via street access. We are lucky to be located just a stone's throw away from Beatrixpark and Martin Luther Kingpark, with the Amstel and the Amsterdamse Bos close by, providing some wonderful green spaces right on our doorstep for daily walks. Our apartment has two balconies (one of which gets the sun all day long ☀️☀️☀️) and plenty of comfy space inside for dogs to relax. All my dog guests get an entire room to themselves to ensure they have their own quiet and safe space to rest—unless, of course, they prefer to cuddle up with us on the sofa or in bed... Because of my professional background managing packs, safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities, whether looking after a pet in my home or yours.

Over: Ik ben opgegroeid met drie rottweilers en een Ridgeback dus ik heb veel ervaring met honden. Ik heb ook puppy cursussen gedaan met mijn puppy en zelf een puppy opgevoed. Ik heb momenteel geen huisdieren meer van ik ben op mijzelf gaan wonen. Daarom lijkt het mij extra leuk om op uw hond te passen, want ik mis het hebben van huisdieren heel erg. Ik ben student dus ik ben vaak beschikbaar om een ommetje te maken, om op uw honden te passen of mee te spelen! Ook al is het voor een korte periode maar langere periodes zou ook kunnen. Ik kom heel graag buiten dus lang lopen vind ik alleen maar leuk. Mijn liefde voor honden is onbeschrijfelijk. Het is een droom om dit werk te noemen! Ik zal altijd met liefde omgaan met uw honden. Ik kan zowel met grote honden als met kleine honden omgaan. Ik heb zelf veel ervaring met grote honden. Ik zal de hond altijd veel aandacht geven, dat hij nooit alleen zit!

“Via het internet heb ik de organisatie Rover gevonden. Wij zijn op vakantie in Callantsoog en kregen het bericht dat er een goede vriend was overleden. Wij wilden naar de crematie maar konden onze hond Dex niet in de Caravan achterlaten vanwege de hoge temperaturen. Via Rover zijn wij met Maria in contact gekomen en haar uitgekozen om een dag en nacht op Dex te passen. The weekend that my dog spent at her place was amazing too. I got updates 5+ times per week, with pictures of my dog, my dog was walked for multiple hours a day, she was allowed everywhere in the house; and Lada was veryyyy attentive to her needs and always checked in with me on what she could do extra. She even invited me for tea after the dog stay. I genuinely couldn’t recommend her more, i’d trust her to watch my dog anytime!”

“We waren best gespannen om ons hondje Blizzard voor het eerst bij een onbekende achter te laten, maar vanaf het eerste contact met Shaima hadden we meteen een goed gevoel. Ze was ontzettend warm en liefdevol, en haar ervaring met honden straalde er vanaf. Dat stelde ons enorm gerust. Tijdens het verblijf hield Shaima ons dagelijks op de hoogte met lieve berichtjes, updates en leuke foto’s. Ze nam echt de tijd om ons mee te nemen in hoe het met Blizzard ging, wat we als heel prettig hebben ervaren. Ze stelde gerust vragen wanneer dat nodig was, wat haar zorgzaamheid en betrokkenheid alleen maar bevestigde. Wat we ook enorm waardeerden: Shaima merkte dat Blizzard soms wat vaker naar buiten moest omdat hij het niet altijd even goed kon ophouden. Ze heeft zich daar meteen op aangepast en is meerdere keren korte wandelmomentjes met hem gegaan. Zo lief, ze keek echt naar wat hij nodig had. En het allerbelangrijkste: Blizzard had het zó naar zijn zin, dat we bij het ophalen bijna het gevoel kregen dat hij liever nog even bij Shaima bleef. Op de foto’s en video’s zagen we ook hoe blij en ontspannen hij was, en hoe liefdevol zij met hem omging. Wij komen zéker terug bij Shaima. Het was voor ons (en voor Blizzard!) echt een ontzettend fijne en warme ervaring. We raden haar met alle vertrouwen aan!”

I’m fluent in English, Dutch and Swedish (I can teach your dog some ;) ) Ever since I can remember I’ve been a big fan of dogs. I’ve had dogs around me my whole life, I grew up with a Golden Retriever and a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and have in my later teens helped raised two Kangals. I have a lot of understanding and respect for dogs, both big and small. Lately I’m sitting my brothers Cane Corso Enzo, he is a puppy who needs a lot of training, and I’m up for the challenge! Apart from my experience and love for animals, I am an active person who walks a lot, I love being in nature and I would say I have a lot of patience. Whether it’s an older dog who needs a slower pace, or an active dog who needs a long power walk, I’m up for it! Since I am a student at the UvA, some mornings and afternoons are blocked out, but also some days are totally free for me. I’ll be honest and say that my schedule might change every 2 months with new courses, but mostly I am busy 3 days of the week. Still, everyday I stay active by going on a walk in Amsterdamse bos, going to the gym or biking. I love to cook and to relax with my boyfriend at home (he is also crazy about dogs!) I live in an apartment of roughly 95 m2, with a big living room and a large balcony (with a serious fence). We keep it clean with fresh air flowing. We live 3 minutes walking from the Amsterdamse Bos, it’s a national treasure and a dog heaven! My boyfriend and I live together have the same philosophy: nobody has died from a dog on the couch. But the of course, if your dog is not used to being on furniture, we will respect his/her boundaries ;) I will be as strict or relaxed as the dog needs me to be, I am a flexible dog sitter.

Over: Honden zijn altijd een groot onderdeel van mijn leven geweest. Ik ben opgegroeid met honden en heb al sinds mijn tweede levensjaar altijd één of meerdere honden thuis gehad. Daardoor ben ik gewend aan verschillende rassen, karakters en leeftijden en weet ik hoe belangrijk rust, structuur en aandacht zijn. Door mijn drukke werk en mijn regelmatige reizen vind ik het op dit moment niet eerlijk om zelf fulltime een hond te hebben. Toch mis ik de gezelligheid en liefde die een hond met zich meebrengt. Ik ben beschikbaar op zowel doordeweekse dagen als in het weekend en denk graag mee als er last-minute opvang nodig is. ik ben opgegroeid met honden, waardoor de verzorging voor mij heel natuurlijk voelt. Jouw hond verblijft in een ruim appartement van ongeveer 120 m² met voldoende ruimte om te ontspannen. Ik woon op loopafstand van zowel het Erasmuspark als het Rembrandtpark, waardoor we meerdere keren per dag fijne wandelingen kunnen maken in een groene omgeving. Of je hond nu graag actief is of juist behoefte heeft aan rust, ik zorg ervoor dat hij of zij zich veilig, ontspannen en thuis voelt.

Over: Mijn vriend is opgegroeid met een hond en heeft dus veel ervaring met hondengedrag. Zelf ben ik opgegroeid met heel veel huisdieren én liet ik vroeger altijd alle honden uit de straat uit! We zijn allebei échte dierenliefhebbers. We houden allebei enorm van wandelen in het bos, dus we zijn altijd wel in voor een goede wandeling met jouw hond! En omdat we met z'n tweeën zijn, krijgt je hond bij ons sowieso alle aandacht en knuffels die hij verdient. Hoewel we allebei fulltime werken, werken we 2 tot 3 dagen per week vanuit huis. Hierdoor hebben we superveel flexibiliteit om onze dag helemaal om jouw hond heen te plannen! Mocht het een keer nodig zijn, dan mag de hond zelfs met ons mee naar kantoor. We zijn allebei erg actief en wonen direct aan het park. Tussen het werken door kunnen we dus heel gemakkelijk even naar buiten voor een heerlijke, actieve wandeling! We wonen direct aan het park, dus we stappen zo het groen in zonder langs drukke wegen te hoeven lopen. Tijdens het wandelen houden we honden voor de veiligheid altijd netjes aan de lijn. Om je een gerust gevoel te geven, sturen we gedurende de dag gezellig foto's en updates. Ook plannen we vooraf altijd een vrijblijvende Meet & Greet. Zo kunnen we rustig bespreken wat jouw hond gewend is qua ritme en regels, en stemmen we alles perfect af!

Over: In my opinion, looking after dogs it's a great responsibility because who owner of a dog I know that it is very important for the family. About their care, dogs are all different, like people, and each one has their own way of communicating and feeling trustworthy. I like to respect the dog's time to feel comfortable with me to have a friendly relationship and make them feel safe. I have a flexible hours because I work by project, so if we arrange a day before, I can adapt my schedule. Also I don't have any problem to look after them a workable day as well as a weekend. First at all, I would ask the owner if the dog had special treatment for health or behavior. Second, I would ask what type of game it usually plays and I would adapt to its way of playing. Third, what are its times for eating or going for a walk.
