“Via het internet heb ik de organisatie Rover gevonden. Wij zijn op vakantie in Callantsoog en kregen het bericht dat er een goede vriend was overleden. Wij wilden naar de crematie maar konden onze hond Dex niet in de Caravan achterlaten vanwege de hoge temperaturen. Via Rover zijn wij met Maria in contact gekomen en haar uitgekozen om een dag en nacht op Dex te passen. Maria is een superlieve vrouw en dierenvriend, het klikte tussen ons en Dex en wij konden hem met een zeer rustig gevoel bij haar achterlaten. Wij werden zeer goed geïnformeerd met korte filmpjes over het wel en wee van Dex en Maria. Maria hartelijk bedankt en wij wensen jou alle goeds, jij bent een echte Dierenvriendin‼️”

Over: Hoi hoi, ik heb bij mijn ouders thuis altijd een hond gehad. Hier speelde ik met plezier mee en liep ik vaak een rondje. Nu ik in Alkmaar woon zou ik het leuk vinden om af en toe een rondje met een hond te wandelen! Door de weeks werk in in de kinderopvang. Ik werk vaak 4 dagen, de andere dagen ben ik beschikbaar om een rondje met uw hond te lopen of meer. Bij mijn ouders behandelen wij onze hond met liefde. Altijd gezellig om dieren om je heen te hebben. Natuurlijk zal ik ook met respect met uw dier omgaan en hoor ik graag wat de beste verzorgingsmethode is!

Over: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a very pet-loving family where we always had at least three dogs, sometimes four, alongside rabbits, fish, and other pets. Over the years I’ve lived with and cared for a wide variety of different breeds, including Bernese Mountain Dogs, Newfoundlands, a Cocker Spaniel mix, a Maltese Poodle, and a Boerboel. Having had both giant breeds and smaller dogs as pets has really taught me how different every dog is and how important it is to adapt to their individual personality, energy level, and needs. I regularly took our three Bernese Mountain Dogs on hikes in the mountains and on adventures to forests and lakes, while our smaller dogs much preferred a relaxing walk on the beach or park. I now work from home full-time, with no pets currently, and live just a short walk from Vondelpark, which means I have the flexibility to give plenty of attention, walks and playtime throughout the day. Over: Ik heb al mijn hele leven katten en heb verder nog konijnen, hamsters, vissen en een parkiet gehad. Ook paste ik vroeger met mijn gezin op een boederij met varkens, geiten en kippen en ben ik een groot hondenliefhebber. Ik houd dus echt van elk dier en heb ondertussen alles gezien wat je gezien kan hebben op het gebied van dieren waardoor ik in elke situatie weer hoe je ermee om moet gaan! Ik kom langs jouw thuis om je huisdier eten te geven en nog even bij ze te blijven. Ervan afhangende wat het karakter van jouw huisdier is ga ik tijdens deze tijd met ze spelen, zitten of laat ik ze gewoon hun gang gaan.
Over: Ik heb sinds mijn 10e voor de twee honden van mijn grootouders gezorgd. Daarnaast heb ik twee katten die ik dagelijks verzorg. Naast huisdieren heb ik ook aardig wat ervaring met andere dieren. Ik heb vorig jaar namelijk tijdens mij reis in Costa Rica vrijwilligerswerk gedaan in een Animal Rescue Centre. Hier was ik ‘in charge of’ de brulapen. Super vette ervaring! Naast brulapen hadden zij ook dieren als luiaarden, honden, herten, alligators, etc. Momenteel ben ik net gestopt mijn opleiding Psychologie aan de Vrije Universiteit en werk ik parttime voor de GGD. Huisdieren verzorgen past makkelijk in dit schema! Thuis heb ik twee katten die momenteel niet veel verzorgen nodig hebben, behalve eten, drinken en héél veel aandacht natuurlijk. Mijn katten hebben op dit moment het meeste baat bij de aandacht die mijn gezin en ik hen geven. Ze beginnen nu wel richting de leeftijd 10 jaar te gaan, maar ze hebben nog geen mankementen (gelukkig).

Over: k heb ervaring met het verzorgen en uitlaten van honden van verschillende leeftijden en karakters. Ik vind het belangrijk om goed te kijken naar de behoeften van iedere hond, of het nu gaat om een energieke wandeling, spelen en aandacht, of juist een rustige aanpak. Door mijn geduldige en verantwoordelijke houding voelen honden zich snel op hun gemak bij mij. Ik zorg ervoor dat ze voldoende beweging, aandacht en verzorging krijgen, zodat ze zich veilig en gelukkig voelen terwijl hun baasje weg is. Over: Ik heb als kind zelf altijd honden gehad en ze ook altijd uitgelaten en veel met ze geknuffeld en gespeeld. Zelf hebben wij een chihuahua gehad die hebben we helaas moeten laten inslapen. Maar de liefde voor honden is er nog steeds mijn kindjes zijn ook gek op dieren. Ik werk in de zorg als zzp’er maar werk nooit hele lange uren achter elkaar kom tussen door altijd naar huis. Daarom hoeft de hond nooit langer dan 4 uurtjes alleen te zijn. De kindjes vinden het ook leuk om te helpen met het uitlaten en het borstelen van de hond Ik heb een omheinde Thuin dus de hond kan niet weg lopen. De hond mag bij ons op de bank liggen en op bed liggen

Over: Hi! 😊 Honden zijn voor mij echt familie en ik vind het belangrijk dat ze zich veilig, geliefd en op hun gemak voelen. Ik heb een tijd op een ranch in Duitsland gewoond waar we twee Australian Shepherds en een Border Collie hadden. De Aussies heb ik grotendeels vanaf pup opgevoed en met onze Border Collie, die een lastig verleden had, ben ik ook meerdere keren naar de hondenschool geweest. Daardoor heb ik geleerd goed om te gaan met verschillende karakters en gedragingen. Daarnaast heb ik vaak opgepast op de Jack Russell van een vriendin tijdens vakanties en andere momenten. Ik hou van lange wandelingen, avontuur en actief bezig zijn met honden — vroeger nam ik ze zelfs regelmatig mee tijdens het paardrijden 😊 Ik ben geduldig, rustig en speels, maar durf ook duidelijk en consequent te zijn wanneer dat nodig is. Medicatie geven is geen probleem en ik sta open voor alle soorten honden. Ik geloof niet echt in “slechte rassen”, iedere hond is anders en verdient een eerlijke kans en liefdevolle begeleiding. Verder heb ik een auto, dus uitstapjes of ophalen is vaak mogelijk. En ja… als een hond graag bij je op bed kruipt voor extra knuffels, dan vind ik dat helemaal gezellig 🐾 Momenteel heb ik nog geen vaste baan, waardoor ik veel vrije tijd en flexibiliteit heb. Daardoor kan ik huisdieren veel aandacht geven, wandelingen plannen en mijn dagelijkse routine aanpassen aan hun behoeften Ik zorg voor een rustige, veilige en vertrouwde omgeving voor ieder huisdier en heb een omheind tuintje. Over: I grew up with dogs and, as an adult, have regularly cared for dogs for friends, so I feel very comfortable and confident around them. I truly enjoy spending time with dogs—whether that’s going for active walks and playtime or simply relaxing together for a cuddle on the couch. I am the sole caregiver and will always be the one responsible for your dog’s care and supervision. I understand how important it is to feel that your pet is in safe, reliable hands. I do have an 8-year-old child who is present after school hours. He is very gentle, respectful, and absolutely loves dogs. He enjoys playing and cuddling with them, but your dog will never be left alone with him—I am always present and supervising interactions to ensure everyone’s comfort and safety. I work full time, but I am self-employed, so can bring dogs with me to work. From there we can go for a longer walk around lunchtime, or shorter toilet breaks as necessary. Longer walks are also possible before or after work. On weekends we can go for adventures to the many parks of Amsterdam. I have a bakfiets, so if it’s ok with you, we can get around town with the wind in our fur! I have a clean and welcoming environment in my home, with room for playing and napping. I live on the third floor, and there are stairs inside my apartment too. I’m happy to carry smaller dogs up and down, but this might be something to consider. In general, when I am caring for a dog, it’s much like having a child to take care of. I do have an 8 year old (who is very sweet and gentle with dogs), so your dog has to be friendly and comfortable with children. I also need to know how your dog is with other dogs and people, so I can act accordingly. I never let dogs off leash before i know them very well, because I take my responsibility very seriously. And always pick up poop!

Over: I got my first dog in 2013, a Weimaraner. He taught me a lot of being a pet owner. I understand the importance of a good diet, a good amount of exercise, as well as dog language. I know the impact of having rest time before and after meals when exercise is involved. If they’re active dogs, I know running exercises are good but impact activities such as jumping could affect their hips. I know how to keep their teeth and ears clean, as well as the key to avoid excessive shedding is brushing their coats constantly. I am also able to potty train puppies and teach them basic commands like sitting, waiting, going to their bed or crate, or leaving stuff they shouldn’t grab or eat. Of course this is not done in one day and consistency is key for training a puppy. Senior dogs are not as active any more but they still require gentle walks, potty breaks, and of course, respecting their own space since they enjoy some peace and quite. I’ve been doing dogsitting for a bit more than a year full time but I currently have limited availability during the week so I’m mainly available on the weekends or some holidays. I don’t have pets of my own right now so your pet will receive my full attention. I don’t have a garden but over the weekends I have full availability for walks, potty breaks, and play sessions. I don’t mind pets walking around the house while I’m present. In my experience, a well exercised pet is not really a problem inside the house :) I can keep you updated by text with pictures or videos as often as possible.

Over: Opgegroeid met herders en daarna altijd op de honden van vrienden en kennissen gepast voor langere periodes. In 2019 ben ik begonnen met Dogbuddy (nu Rover) en dit beviel erg goed. Ik was voor langere tijd de vaste oppas voor verschillende honden of ze kwamen vaker terug bij vakanties en/of weekendjes weg. Zelfs is er aan mij gevraagd of ik enkele honden wil overnemen, omdat de gezinnen helaas te weinig tijd hadden. Sinds 4 jaar een eigen hond (Ozzy, gecastreerde reu) Dit is een kruising tussen een Leonberger en een Corgi Pembroke. Een heerlijk vrolijke noot en het lijkt ons zeker leuk om onze vrije dagen met nog een hond te delen. Ik woon in Heemskerk vlakbij Wijk aan zee strand, waar ik ook regelmatig ga wandelen samen met Ozzy. Het bos is ook een populaire bestemming waar wij vaak te vinden zijn. Lekker los kunnen lopen is dan ook een must! Op zaterdag, zondag maandag ben ik vrij en kan ik makkelijk een hond extra erbij verzorgen. Op de andere dagen werk ik en wissel ik af met mijn vriend. Ook logeert onze hond 1 nachtje bij mijn ouders doordeweeks. Ik heb een omheinde tuin en een grote camper om de honden apart in te vervoeren naar het strand. Mijn hond zit voorin en de andere hond kan achterin liggen.

Over: I began working with animals in 2016 through Paws and Claws, an independent daycare and dog walking service in the UK. My responsibilities included walking, feeding, and caring for dogs throughout the morning and afternoon. I was also responsible for pick-up and drop-off, which involved being trusted with access to clients’ homes. Alongside this, I carried out house calls to help socialise dogs or check in on those who didn’t require a full day of on-site daycare. At the daycare facility, I comfortably handled groups of up to ten dogs of varying breeds, sizes, and temperaments on walks in the local woodlands. As demand grew, I expanded my services to include house and pet sitting across several nearby villages and towns. Over the years, I have cared for a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, and guinea pigs, and I am also happy to tend to gardens or house plants when needed. If a dog needs to be left alone or doesn't get along with other dogs, this can also be easily accommodated during the day in a safe, penned-off area at the facility. On my days off, I am entirely flexible and work from home while finishing my Master's thesis, making my routine highly compatible with dedicated pet care. I live with my girlfriend in a large, multi-room apartment in the Rivierenbuurt neighbourhood of Amsterdam. The location is convenient for dogs and humans alike, being just a short walk from several metro stations and with easy drop-off outside via street access. We are lucky to be located just a stone's throw away from Beatrixpark and Martin Luther Kingpark, with the Amstel and the Amsterdamse Bos close by, providing some wonderful green spaces right on our doorstep for daily walks. Our apartment has two balconies (one of which gets the sun all day long ☀️☀️☀️) and plenty of comfy space inside for dogs to relax. All my dog guests get an entire room to themselves to ensure they have their own quiet and safe space to rest—unless, of course, they prefer to cuddle up with us on the sofa or in bed... Because of my professional background managing packs, safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities, whether looking after a pet in my home or yours.

We live in a house with a garden, offering space to play and relax safely. My household includes two children on a part-time basis, both familiar and comfortable with dogs, creating a calm and social environment for any visiting pet. I'm working from home and can take care of your pet based on it's needs. Over: Apart from growing up with a feisty jack russel and now owning and training an easy going toller, I’ve volunteered at an animal shelter and an assistance dog school for the last 10 years. I work from home regularly and effortlessly combine that with taking car of my own dog, leaving time to add another dog into the mix either in our home or by walking/visiting your dog at their home. I have a very friendly and easy going toller that can function as a play or sleep buddy. Your dog is welcome to stay at our place, where there is also enough space for the dogs to hang our separately from each other. If I visit or walk your dog I can bring my own dog, but obviously can also give your dog some one on one quality time

She agreed to watch my dog less than 12 hours in advance, and then agreed to meet me at the train station instead of me dropping off the dog at her place, which shows how kind and thoughtful and helpful she is!!! The weekend that my dog spent at her place was amazing too. I got updates 5+ times per week, with pictures of my dog, my dog was walked for multiple hours a day, she was allowed everywhere in the house; and Lada was veryyyy attentive to her needs and always checked in with me on what she could do extra. She even invited me for tea after the dog stay. I genuinely couldn’t recommend her more, i’d trust her to watch my dog anytime!”

Over: Mijn vriend is opgegroeid met een hond en heeft dus veel ervaring met hondengedrag. Zelf ben ik opgegroeid met heel veel huisdieren én liet ik vroeger altijd alle honden uit de straat uit! We zijn allebei échte dierenliefhebbers. We houden allebei enorm van wandelen in het bos, dus we zijn altijd wel in voor een goede wandeling met jouw hond! En omdat we met z'n tweeën zijn, krijgt je hond bij ons sowieso alle aandacht en knuffels die hij verdient. Hoewel we allebei fulltime werken, werken we 2 tot 3 dagen per week vanuit huis. Hierdoor hebben we superveel flexibiliteit om onze dag helemaal om jouw hond heen te plannen! Mocht het een keer nodig zijn, dan mag de hond zelfs met ons mee naar kantoor. We zijn allebei erg actief en wonen direct aan het park. Tussen het werken door kunnen we dus heel gemakkelijk even naar buiten voor een heerlijke, actieve wandeling! We wonen direct aan het park, dus we stappen zo het groen in zonder langs drukke wegen te hoeven lopen. Tijdens het wandelen houden we honden voor de veiligheid altijd netjes aan de lijn. Om je een gerust gevoel te geven, sturen we gedurende de dag gezellig foto's en updates. Ook plannen we vooraf altijd een vrijblijvende Meet & Greet. Zo kunnen we rustig bespreken wat jouw hond gewend is qua ritme en regels, en stemmen we alles perfect af!

Betsy definitely landed at one of the best sitters ever! Mathilda regularly updated us on Betsy’s wellbeing, send photos and boy oh boy was Betsy spoilt! Over: Honden maken me oprecht blij. Hun energie, hun eerlijkheid en het contact dat je zonder woorden kunt hebben daar geniet ik echt van. En eerlijk is eerlijk: van een kwispelende staart word ik gewoon blij. Wat begon als iets wat ik gewoon heel leuk vond, wil ik nu graag verder uitbouwen. Het voelt voor mij als een hobby die ik met liefde heb omgezet naar werk. Voor mij voelt het dan ook niet als “werk”, maar als gezelschap waar je aandacht aan geeft. Ik kies bewust voor 1-op-1 zorg, omdat ik merk dat rust en aandacht zoveel verschil maken. Geen groepswandelingen of haast, maar echt afstemmen op wat een hond nodig heeft. Ik heb inmiddels ervaring met veel verschillende honden. Ik vind een wederzijdse vertrouwensband opbouwen heel belangrijk! Een hond moet zich veilig voelen. Daarom neem ik de tijd om elkaar rustig te leren kennen en kijk ik goed naar lichaamstaal, energie en tempo. Elke hond is anders en dat vind ik juist mooi. De zorg voor honden plan ik bewust in mijn week in. Het is niet iets wat ik er even tussendoor doe, maar iets waar ik echt ruimte voor maak. Het zorgen voor honden is inmiddels een vast onderdeel van mijn werkweek geworden. Doordat ik mijn eigen planning indeel, kan ik zorgen voor rust, aandacht en een ontspannen ritme. Geen volle agenda’s of haast, maar tijd om echt af te stemmen. Voor de honden-uitlaatservice ben ik beschikbaar ik in de omgeving van het Erasmuspark, Westerpark, de Jordaan en de Houthavens fijne plekken waar beweging, veiligheid en veel honden samenkomen 😉 Daarnaast bied ik ook overnachtingen aan, zowel doordeweeks als in het weekend. Honden verblijven dan in een rustige, huiselijke omgeving. Ik vang nooit meer dan twee honden tegelijk op, zodat de aandacht persoonlijk en ontspannen blijft.
